With various funding sources and contributions from the people, Binh Son district ( Quang Ngai province) has invested in building and repairing hundreds of kilometers of roads at all levels, thereby gradually improving its infrastructure.

Allocating hundreds of billions of VND to build transportation infrastructure is a driving force.

Observations along provincial and district roads in Binh Son district show that the local transportation and urban infrastructure is becoming increasingly modern, well-maintained, and interconnected.

The transportation infrastructure, which Binh Son district has prioritized investing in, has improved the local landscape and the lives of its people.

The DH01 road used to be a nightmare for residents due to its peeling surface creating potholes and large depressions. But now, thanks to investment in repairs, the road surface has become smooth. Vehicles transporting agricultural and forestry products, as well as people, can travel more easily.

In addition, many other district roads have been repaired and newly invested in, gradually eliminating the problem of vehicles bouncing on the road. For example, Highway 07, which was once a "bad spot" in terms of infrastructure, now has a nearly 2km section connecting Vo Van Kiet Street to National Highway 1 that has been smoothly paved with asphalt.

It is understood that the investment in upgrading these two roads was flexibly planned by Binh Son district, utilizing targeted funds allocated by the central government.

According to the People's Committee of Binh Son district, from 2021 to the present, the locality has taken advantage of funding from the central and provincial budgets, totaling nearly 300 billion VND, to invest in the construction of district roads according to the approved plan. In addition, the district budget has replaced the road signage system and invested in upgrading and repairing more than 50km of district roads.

To date, more than 93 out of 108 km of district roads have been asphalted or concreted, reaching a rate of nearly 86%.

The transportation infrastructure in Binh Son district is gradually becoming more modern and well-equipped.

Regarding the bridge and culvert system, investments have been made in construction, upgrading, and replacement with more robust structures, with 32 out of 33 bridge projects completed.

In particular, a key project invested in by the district is the Thach An bridge project across the Tra Bong river, with a length of nearly 1.8km and a total investment of 150 billion VND, connecting National Highway 24C with district roads DH.09 and DH.01, which has gradually completed the district's infrastructure.

In addition, Binh Son district also has many other key transportation infrastructure projects invested by the province, such as the Tri Binh - Dung Quat road; the upgrading of the main North-South road in Van Tuong urban area; and many projects to expand and upgrade related roads, creating a vibrant new picture of transportation infrastructure in this gateway district of northern Quang Ngai.

Rural transportation is becoming increasingly vibrant.

In addition to the main road infrastructure, Binh Son district has also been promoting investment in rural and inter-field transportation infrastructure in recent years.

According to the leaders of the Binh Son District People's Committee, developing rural transportation infrastructure is one of the important political tasks of the locality in the journey to transform Binh Son into a new rural district, aiming to become a town in the next few years.

Hundreds of kilometers of rural and field roads in Binh Son have been paved, accounting for over 90%.

Traveling through communes like Binh Thoi, Binh Duong , and Binh Phuoc, it's easy to see the significant changes in rural infrastructure. Most roads here have been paved with concrete or hardened. Even internal field roads have been improved, allowing farmers to travel from their homes to their fields without getting muddy.

To date, after 4 years of implementing the Resolution of the District Party Congress, the communes in the district have invested in, upgraded, and repaired 50 commune and village roads with a total length of nearly 30km, at a cost of over 60 billion VND.

Specifically, 114km of roads have been concreted over the past four years thanks to cement support. In addition, during the construction of rural transportation infrastructure, local authorities actively mobilized people in the district to donate over 3.4 hectares of land to expand roads, contributing nearly 26 billion VND and 14,495 man-days of labor.

According to Nguyen Tuong Duy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Son district, nearly 227 out of 227.2 km of commune and inter-commune roads have been asphalted or concreted to meet the technical standards of the Ministry of Transport, achieving a rate of 98.8%.

Regarding village and inter-village main roads, over 182/186km have been paved to meet the technical standards of the Ministry of Transport, achieving a rate of 97.8% compared to the total planned village and inter-village main roads.

Specifically, over 426 out of 474 km of village and hamlet roads are clean and not muddy during the rainy season, ensuring convenient year-round travel for the people. The main internal field roads are paved, allowing for convenient motor vehicle access, on over 272 km out of a total of over 333 km.

Currently, Binh Son district is adjusting its transportation infrastructure development plan to align with reality: adjusting the length and scale, reducing and incorporating some district roads into the 2045 development plan as a basis for allocating investment resources in the future.

According to Nguyen Tuong Duy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Son District, to achieve the significant results in infrastructure development as seen today, the locality has implemented a comprehensive set of solutions to develop a modern and integrated infrastructure, creating momentum for development. This includes prioritizing investment in projects and ensuring a balanced approach, and allocating capital appropriately.

The Thach An bridge project, invested in by Binh Son district, not only connects transportation but also enhances the local landscape.

As a result, the infrastructure system in the district has developed significantly, basically meeting the requirements and serving as an important prerequisite for building new rural areas and developing urban areas.

"But most importantly, the results achieved in developing transportation infrastructure are not only due to the efforts of the district but also to the attention and guidance of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the District Party Committee, and the District People's Council. This has significantly contributed to promoting economic development, ensuring national security and defense, and improving the lives of the people," Mr. Duy emphasized.
