Flash flood and landslide warning due to heavy rain in Da Nang

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of December 3, the Central Hydrometeorological Station issued a warning of flash floods, landslides, and subsidence due to heavy rain and water flow in Da Nang City.

Localities and residents of Da Nang City need to be on guard against flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

In the past 6 hours (from 8:00 a.m. on December 3 to 2:00 p.m. on December 3), Da Nang City has had moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. In the next 6 hours, the city will continue to have moderate to heavy rain. Total rainfall is commonly 20-30 mm, in some places over 40 mm.

It is forecasted that from December 3 to December 5, in the northern communes and wards of the city, there will be rain, moderate rain, heavy rain in some places, and very heavy rain with common rainfall of 70-150 mm, in some places over 220 mm; in the southern communes and wards of the city, there will be rain, moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places with common rainfall of 100-200 mm, in some places over 250 mm.

Soil moisture model shows that Da Nang city has reached near saturation state (over 85%).
