National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man pays tribute to heroic martyrs and meritorious people in Thai Nguyen province

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on the morning of July 20, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation offered incense and flowers at the National Historical Site of July 27; the National Historical Site of the memorial site for the youth volunteers of Company 915, Team 91 Bac Thai; visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and war invalids in Thai Nguyen province.

The 27-7 National Historical Site in Dai Phuc Commune, Thai Nguyen Province. Here, on the afternoon of July 27, 1947, a rally was held with the participation of 300 delegates to listen to the announcement of President Ho Chi Minh 's letter, which included the decision to take July 27 every year as War Invalids Day (from July 1955, it was changed to War Invalids and Martyrs Day).

Here, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers, commemorating and expressing gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs; and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the National Assembly Chairman sends to war invalids, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, and people with revolutionary contributions his best wishes for good health, warm regards, and deepest gratitude.

The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated Thai Nguyen province for effectively implementing the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Executive Committee, especially the laws and resolutions of the National Assembly related to the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, merging of provincial-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units and rearranging commune-level administrative units.

Informing that previously, Bac Kan province and Thai Nguyen province had merged into one province called Bac Thai province, the National Assembly Chairman stated that the merger of the two provinces this time was both a historical inheritance and a major policy of the Central Government to open up a larger and stronger development space, promoting faster and more sustainable development.

The National Assembly Chairman acknowledged that the new Thai Nguyen province has been determined and urgent in arranging and organizing the apparatus. After 3 weeks of operating the 2-level local government, this task has basically been carried out smoothly, the apparatus is streamlined, operating effectively, efficiently, effectively, and closely with the people, resolving urgent requests of the people; applying science and technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence in administrative procedure reform, serving the people and businesses. This has contributed to maintaining a very positive socio-economic development situation in the past time, especially in the first 6 months of 2025. Accordingly, the GRDP growth rate of the province (after the arrangement) reached a fairly high level of 6.61%. Domestic revenue reached more than 11,839 billion VND, the poverty rate was 2.04%. Before the merger, Thai Nguyen had completed support for 1,974 households in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, supporting housing for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives, reaching 100%; reaching the finish line 8 months ahead of the Government's request.

The National Assembly Chairman also welcomed Thai Nguyen for its recent attention to promoting socio-economic development, building a clean and strong political system, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, and taking care of policy families, meritorious people, and the poor. The whole province has 98.7% of meritorious people's households with an average or higher standard of living. This is a great effort of the province in socio-economic development associated with taking care of meritorious people.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman requested Thai Nguyen province to continue to resolutely implement policies for people with meritorious services, promote social security work, care for poor households, and sustainably reduce poverty, especially for ethnic minorities. On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman called on the Fatherland Front, organizations, sectors, levels, and enterprises to continue to join hands to care for and provide material and spiritual support to war invalids, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, and people with meritorious services to the country.

The province continues to implement resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, especially Conclusion No. 177 dated July 11, 2025 and Conclusion No. 178 dated July 17, 2025 to stabilize the apparatus from the province down to the commune level, perfect the positions of Party committees and authorities, ensure a strong apparatus, and meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

The National Assembly Chairman requested the province to implement socio-economic development programs, strive to ensure the growth target from now until the end of the year reaches 8%; pay attention to education and training, take care of people's health, especially prepare for the new school year, not to let any student of school age not go to school.

Stating that recently, the whole country has implemented 4 Resolutions of the Politburo including: Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 59 on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 66 on innovation in law-making and enforcement to meet the requirements of national development in the new era; Resolution No. 68 on private economic development, the National Assembly Chairman said that in the near future, the Politburo will have a resolution on education and training and a resolution on healthcare. Therefore, the province needs to pay attention to synchronously and effectively implementing these important resolutions.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the province vigorously launch emulation movements to improve the material and spiritual life of the people. “It is not enough to wait until holidays and Tet to give gifts, but we must pay attention and take care of families with preferential policies, families of war invalids, and families with meritorious services to the country to improve people's lives, reduce poverty, and escape poverty sustainably,” the National Assembly Chairman pointed out.

Emphasizing the spirit of solidarity after the merger of the two provinces, the National Assembly Chairman suggested joining hands, uniting, and uniting to care for the people, promoting development in the coming time, preparing for the Party Congresses at the commune and ward levels to be completed before August 31, 2025, the Party Congress at the provincial level before October 31, 2025; preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The National Assembly Chairman presented 50 gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs; and witnessed the State Bank of Vietnam and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development presenting funds to build 80 temporary and dilapidated houses worth 5 billion VND to people with meritorious services in Thai Nguyen province.

Signing the golden book here, the National Assembly Chairman emotionally wrote: "I respectfully bow and sincerely pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and 60 youth volunteer martyrs of Company 915, Team 91 Bac Thai who did not spare their youth, were ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and the happiness of the people."

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province will promote the heroic tradition, unite, strive to build Thai Nguyen homeland to be more and more beautiful, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era, developing wealth, civilization and prosperity of the nation, worthy of the dedication and sacrifice of previous generations; wishing that the relic site will always be a place to educate revolutionary traditions and patriotism for young generations.

* Previously, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation visited Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ta Thi Tran (whose husband and children are martyrs) in Van Xuan ward; visited the family of war invalid Hoang Trong Tan (who participated in activities in the Southern Laos - Central Highlands battlefield from 1970 - 1974) in Phan Dinh Phung ward.

At the families visited, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation kindly inquired about their health and life, encouraged the families to continue promoting revolutionary traditions, being exemplary in economic development, building cultural life, joining hands and hearts with local Party committees and authorities to build their homeland to develop more and more. The National Assembly Chairman suggested continuing to well implement the policy of gratitude, paying attention to improving the material and spiritual life of families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people.
