Coach Le Duc Tuan: The 9th person in 10 years!

Da Nang Club won the championship in 2009 and 2012, then their performance and achievements gradually declined, leading to instability on the coaching bench until now, when coach Le Duc Tuan has just arrived.

Since the 2015 season, many talented generals have arrived and then had to leave such as Coach Le Huynh Duc (twice), Nguyen Minh Phuong, Phan Thanh Hung, Pham Minh Duc, Truong Viet Hoang, Dao Quang Hung, Cristiano Roland.

This shows that instability has been simmering for a long time inside the representative once considered the flagship of Central football.

Little by little, Da Nang FC's problems continued to accumulate without being resolved, culminating in being relegated to the first division in the 2023 season. Unfortunately, the journey back to the V-League the following season did not help rekindle the fighting spirit of the team. The domestic players were in poor form but were not strongly reinforced, which is considered the reason why Da Nang FC did not have good results.

Need for comprehensive revolution

This season, Da Nang Club set a target of entering the top 5 but is now at the bottom of the table after 11 rounds, with the worst offense and defense in V-League 2024 - 2025. The poor results caused them to "fire" coaches Dao Quang Hung and Cristiano Roland twice in a row in less than a month.

As of today, they will have their third coach since the beginning of the season, coach Le Duc Tuan, along with two professional assistants Nguyen Quoc Long, Pham Nguyen Sa, two assistant goalkeepers Nguyen Viet Nam and fitness coach Luis.

Coach Le Duc Tuan said goodbye to Hanoi FC, possibly due to the first home defeat against HAGL FC after 13 years, on the day Dinh Hai received an early red card and Tuan Hai missed a penalty at the end of the match. The experience of leading Hanoi FC twice will be a valuable asset for the 1982-born coach in his new challenge.

Mr. Le Duc Tuan's two right-hand men will be Pham Nguyen Sa and Nguyen Quoc Long, two young coaches full of desire to contribute in their first breath of air at the V-League technical cabin.

Nguyen Sa is the standard symbol of Da Nang football. This former midfielder was a literal and figurative support during the golden period of the Han River football team. In particular, the young coach born in 1989 has experience thanks to the years of fighting at Quang Ninh Club.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Quoc Long used to be one of the best right-backs in Vietnam, famous for playing for Hanoi, Saigon, The Cong clubs... with a fiery playing style and high fighting spirit.

If Nguyen Sa is a calm stability, on the contrary, Quoc Long possesses the strong personality of a leader, contributing to creating the cohesive, stubborn identity of the "rebellious" Saigon Club of the past.

Two assistants - one local "static", one new "dynamic" - will join coach Le Duc Tuan to form a youthful team, with the hope of fanning the flames of desire for the domestic players of the Han River team.

Of course, this young coaching team still lacks experience in the V-League. But they will have support from Technical Director Phan Thanh Hung, the former head coach of the Vietnam national team, who will have timely advice for his former students.
