According to information on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh, daughter of Masan Group Chairman (HoSE: MSN) Nguyen Dang Quang, bought nearly 8.5 million MSN shares out of the total 10 million shares previously registered to buy. The reason for not completing the transaction was that an agreement could not be reached.
This transaction was carried out by Ms. Linh from October 29 to November 18 by order matching and negotiation method. After the transaction, the ownership ratio at Masan of Chairman Quang's daughter is 0.59% of capital.
During the time Ms. Linh made the transaction, MSN shares fluctuated relatively negatively, falling from over 77,000 VND to 70,000 VND/share, a decrease of 9%. Temporarily calculating at this price, the daughter of billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang spent more than 600 billion VND to make the above transaction.
According to published information, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang currently holds only 18 MSN shares. Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen, Mr. Quang's wife, owns nearly 50.9 million MSN shares, equivalent to 3.36% of capital.
In total, the family of Masan Chairman is holding more than 59.3 million shares, equivalent to 4.13% of the group's capital.
According to the 2023 annual report, the list of major shareholders at the end of 2023 of Masan Group includes Masan Corporation (31.2%), Hoa Huong Duong Construction Company Limited (13.2%) and SK Investment Vina I (9.2%).
In early November, Masan announced that SK Investment Vina I (SK Group) had transferred 76 million shares through a negotiated transaction. After the transaction, SK Group's ownership ratio in Masan was reduced to 3.67% of charter capital, thereby no longer being a major shareholder. However, the buyer has not been disclosed.
This is one of the notable transactions for stocks that have not yet reached the foreign ownership limit (non-FOL) in Vietnam. The remaining shares of SK Group in MSN will be subject to transfer restrictions according to practice.
In addition, SK Group will transfer 7.1% of WinCommerce (WCM) shares to Masan Group for 200 million USD, equivalent to a valuation of 2.8 billion USD.
