Police verify 8th grade female student 'gang beat' 9th grade female student

After a clip of an 8th grade female student and several people allegedly beating a 9th grade female student with a helmet went viral on social media, the police stepped in to verify.

On November 1, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Nguyen Minh Dang, Principal of Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Ward 3, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long), said that the school had just received information that a clip of a female student "gang beating" was circulating on social networks. This morning, the school coordinated with the police to verify and invited the parents of the students involved to come in for questioning.

The image is said to be of an 8th grade female student and many people "beating" a 9th grade female student with a helmet.

According to Mr. Dang, through initial verification from the clip content, the female student who beat her friend was XT (class 8/6, Nguyen Trai Secondary School), the female student who was beaten was HT (class 9/2, Luong The Vinh Secondary School, Ward 8, Vinh Long City). As for the remaining students, the school is coordinating with the police to verify their identities and the cause of the incident.

"XT is a problem student at Nguyen Trai Secondary School, often violating school rules. Last year, he had to practice good conduct during the summer to qualify to move up a grade," Mr. Dang added.

Previously, on the evening of October 31, a 33-second clip was circulated on social media, recording a scene of a female student and several people "ganging up" on another female student in front of the Vinh Long Provincial Convention Center (Ward 9, Vinh Long City). According to the clip, the group of female students beat their friend with helmets and kicked her; at the same time, they also beat another person when the person tried to stop them.

After the clip went viral on social media, there were many angry comments, asking the authorities to investigate the matter. Stronger measures are needed to prevent violence among today's youth.

Also on the evening of October 31, three more clips ranging in length from 37 seconds to 3 minutes and 14 seconds recorded a "gang beating" of a group of female students, which is said to have occurred at a park in Ward 3, Vinh Long City.
