Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc highly appreciated the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) for developing the Index and organizing the Program for Evaluating and Announcing Sustainable Enterprises in Vietnam (CSI) continuously over the past 10 years.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that in order to effectively contribute to the country's rapid and sustainable development, the business community needs to transform its business thinking from the leadership level to each department; persistently innovate strategies and apply responsible and sustainable business models to create competitive advantages. Enterprises must also improve governance, information transparency and implement accountability through the CSI Index to expand access to green capital, while promptly grasping green market trends and responsible consumption to expand the market and strengthen long-term competitiveness.

Thanks to the CSI Program Evaluation Board

In 2025, the CSI Program attracted more than 500 enterprises nationwide, from different types and sizes of enterprises to submit applications, through which the Organizing Committee pre-screened and selected 147 applications for official evaluation. Notably, this year, more than 20% of enterprises participated for the first time, about 30% were listed enterprises. The Program also received the attention of many State-owned enterprises.

The CSI 2025 announcement ceremony honored 100 outstanding sustainable enterprises in both the manufacturing and trade and service sectors. Of which, the Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises in these two sectors recorded a rate of 60% domestic enterprises and 40% foreign-invested enterprises. This shows that domestic enterprises have made great strides and the "game" of sustainable development is no longer just for FDI enterprises with good governance foundations.

Honoring "CSI Star" businesses

In addition to praising the main category of Sustainable Enterprises, the Program also evaluates and selects pioneering enterprises that perform well in two specialized categories: implementing circular economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and implementing good corporate governance. These are contents that are receiving much attention and priority actions from the global business community when pursuing sustainable business.
