The 3rd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam

On the evening of December 5, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Vietnam Journalists' Association held the award ceremony of the 3rd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam (2025) and a writing contest to learn about the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (1930 - 2025).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 3rd National Press Awards Ceremony on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas in 2025, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan emphasized that 2025 is a year with many important events for the country. Sharing in the exciting and heroic atmosphere of the nation, journalists have also gone through a year of working with great effort and success. In the past few days, reporters and journalists have not been afraid of danger and difficulty to rush into work in the harsh flood-hit areas of the Central region of our country, promptly bringing the most authentic information and images at the scene, about the relief work and overcoming the consequences of the flood. The journey of reporters and journalists over the past year has been one of perseverance, dedication, enthusiasm and creativity to bring articles, films, sounds and vivid images about the picture of agriculture, farmers and rural areas in Vietnam.

Nearly 1,900 works from hundreds of press agencies nationwide participated in the contest and more than 480 writing contest entries explored the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union. Each work is a topic analyzing the results, limitations, and hottest issues facing agriculture, farmers, and rural areas today; at the same time, proposing solutions to overcome them through actions, through specific mechanisms and policies.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan said that through the contest summary, the Organizing Committee realized that reporters, journalists, and press agencies have always accompanied and stood side by side with farmers and the Vietnamese peasant class throughout the past period, especially in 2025 with many difficulties and challenges. Through articles, news bulletins, television and radio reports, they have brought a panoramic, vibrant, innovative and creative picture of green agriculture, the image of new generation farmers, and the picture of modern and civilized new countryside.

Most of the works have closely followed the breath of life, the transformation of the country to enter a new era, in particular, the works have shown a strong picture of "digital transformation" through writing style and presentation in accordance with the theme of this year's season, which is "Breakthrough in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas" in accordance with the content of Resolution 57 of the Politburo. There have been many press works, radio and television programs that have been invested in and elaborately produced with diverse content, from field practices to issued mechanisms and policies.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong presented awards to the authors who won the Encouragement Prize.

The press works entered into the contest have performed well in the role of "policy communication", specifically policies on green agricultural transformation, circular economy towards rapid and sustainable development. The works have diverse and rich content, painting a panoramic picture of the strong development of agriculture in the recent period, contributing to the country's socio-economic growth target at a high level and reaching the double-digit mark in the coming years.

+ In 2025, the Organizing Committee received 1,866 entries for the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas. The Jury selected 34 most outstanding entries to award 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes and 12 Special prizes, with a total prize value of nearly 500 million VND.

For the writing contest to learn about the 95 years of tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, 11 best works were honored with 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes and 5 Encouragement prizes.
