Russia-Ukraine war today, November 4, 2024: How did American citizens help Russian intelligence operate in Ukraine? That is the information revealed by Daniel Martindale.

On October 27, Russian security forces evacuated American citizen Daniel Martindale from the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the East. The American was taken to Donetsk from the village of Bogoyavlenka. The evacuation took place under dangerous conditions - there was a threat from Ukrainian drones and shelling.

Citizen Daniel Martindale was on the territory of Ukraine before the start of the Special Military Operation (February 11, 2022). Martindale established contact with the Russian security forces, after which, for two years, he transmitted the coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities, which enabled effective attacks on AFU infrastructure, equipment and personnel.

I’ve wanted to go to Russia for a long time, and I realized that this is the moment I’ve been waiting for,” Martindale said, adding that he has no plans to return to the United States and has viewed Washington as an adversary since 2005 .

Martindale surprised by Ukrainian intelligence's complacency

Mr Martindale said that in order to carry out his duties, he regularly deleted his Telegram correspondence history. He was surprised that the security services and the AFU never checked his phone during his time in Ukraine.

The American citizen said that this was because he had a US passport: “ There, I made friends with people who were actually waiting for the Russian side. They also had good connections locally. So I was well connected in the places of deployment ,” Mr. Martindale noted.

The American citizen revealed that he had been communicating with the Russian military for two years using a phone dropped by a drone. Mr. Martindale said: “ This was an effort not only by me but also by Russian intelligence .”

British journalist Graham Phillips considered Mr Martindale’s actions in Ukraine to help the Russian military a feat: “ Of course, he did dangerous things, but they worked. He was a great guy for this. That was his achievement .”

Martindale expressed concern that Washington might try to force him back to his homeland to serve his sentence: “ If something happens to me or my family in the near future, it will not be by some accident, it will not be by some natural cause. This will be the job of the American government .”

Kurakhovo attacked, AFU flees

The Russian army is starting to ramp up its operations on the Kursk front, Military Summary reported. Meanwhile, they are also said to be trying to advance from the north.

In the direction of Siversk, the Russian side attacked with more than 10 armored vehicles on the Ivano - Darivka and Viemka axis. According to the Ukrainian side, the attack was repelled.

In Pokrovsk, the Russian army is mainly concentrated in the direction of Kurakhovo and Selidovo. Active attacks are recorded west of Selidovo. The latest reports confirm breakthroughs at Illanka. The Russian army's control of this village could make things more difficult for the AFU in Kurakhovo.

Following the H15 highway, the Russian side established control over the village of Maskymivka and gained further advantages along the fields.

The RVvoenkory channel confirmed that, after breaking through the enemy defense line at Ugledar, the Russian side is rapidly advancing towards Kurakhove from the south.

The recent 10-12 km gain in control over the previous Russian advance is a huge improvement. The AFU could not withstand the pressure from the shock troops of the Vostok Operational Group and had to retreat. The Russian army is actively breaking through rapidly from the south and is now only about 10 km from Kurakhovo.

Meanwhile, many sources at the front confirmed that Russian soldiers had officially begun attacking Kurakhove. Instead of encircling it, they attacked from the east, without waiting for the north and south to advance together.

This was the golden moment for the Russians to attack when the morale of the AFU troops was low. Most of the villages of Katerynivka and Maksimovka had changed hands. In addition, the Russians also entered Novoalesayevka after advancing from Selidovo.

Not only the AFU's personnel problems, but also the reinforcement of troops from the Far East and Trans-Baikal are becoming the main reasons for Russia's increased offensive speed. In the past, it was such troops that helped the Soviet Red Army achieve important victories in the suburbs of Moscow.
