One of the channels that has been evaluated as effective in terms of consumption in recent times is the "Store for introducing and selling safe agricultural products," which was established and maintained by the Standing Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association at the Provincial Farmers' Association headquarters since 2016.

According to the leaders of the Bac Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association, stemming from the increasingly sophisticated consumer trends of the people, who are gravitating towards safe and healthy products, and with the desire to introduce and market clean products and OCOP products within and outside the province, the Provincial Farmers' Association has assigned the Bac Ninh Provincial Center for Vocational Training and Farmers' Support to directly undertake the construction and maintenance of the model of a store for introducing and selling safe agricultural products.
After 8 years of operation, the store has become a trusted address, attracting a large number of regular customers. All products here are labeled and stamped, allowing consumers to learn about the production process and origin. Here, consumers can also find and learn about reputable producers, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and promoting the use and consumption of characteristic OCOP products from Bac Ninh.
According to Mr. Dao Trong Dai, Director of the Vocational Training and Farmer Support Center of Bac Ninh province: “ To ensure the quality of goods supplied at the store, we have selected reputable suppliers with quality certification from relevant authorities; at the same time, we have signed supply contracts and assigned staff to directly supervise and participate in the process of importing and inspecting goods …”.
To diversify the goods available to consumers, in addition to agricultural products from within the province, the store also selects specialty products from several regions that have been awarded OCOP certification, such as: clean rice noodles from Bac Giang province; wood ear mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms from Cao Bang province; vermicelli and dried bamboo shoots from Bac Kan province; sour bamboo shoots from Hoa Binh province; soy sauce from Hai Duong province; Muong Khuong chili sauce (Lao Cai province) and many other specialty products from other provinces, cities, and regions.
Ms. Tran Thi Hai, a resident of Suoi Hoa ward (Bac Ninh city), said: "Initially, I stopped by to buy groceries here just to conveniently wait for my child to finish school, but after a few purchases, the store has now become a trusted place for my family to buy food."
Following a period of effective implementation, many stores selling and showcasing safe agricultural products and OCOP products have been established in Bac Ninh province, receiving positive feedback from consumers. Examples include: a store selling safe vegetables in Gia Binh district; and a store selling and showcasing safe agricultural products in Hoan Son commune (Tien Du district)...

In 2024 alone, Bac Ninh organized three safe agricultural product markets. The first market took place in the early days of the year with the theme "Spring Welcome Market - Strong Farmers". This first market of 2024 featured 22 stalls displaying safe agricultural products meeting VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic, and OCOP standards from businesses, cooperatives, and households in the province and five other provinces and cities: Bac Giang, Tuyen Quang, Dak Lak, Ha Giang, and Hai Phong.
In early May 2024, Bac Ninh province continued to organize the 2nd Safe Agricultural Products Fair of 2024, with the participation of 21 booths displaying safe agricultural products meeting VietGAP, GlobalGAP standards, etc., from businesses, cooperatives, and households in the province and some neighboring provinces such as Bac Giang, Hai Phong, Lao Cai…
A special feature is that upon entering the market, farmer members and consumers will receive advice and guidance from officials of the Bac Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association on downloading, installing, and using the "Vietnamese Farmers" digital platform. "Through the 'Vietnamese Farmers' app, the Bac Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association hopes to promote the introduction and advertising of the province's agricultural products to a wider range of consumers."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Tuyet, Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association, assessed: Although the scale of the safe agricultural product market in Bac Ninh province is not very large, it has received the support of people inside and outside the province during its operation.
To further promote and connect farmers with consumers of agricultural products, the Bac Ninh Provincial Center for Vocational Training and Farmer Support will organize the 3rd Safe Agricultural Products Fair – 2024 from October 14-16, 2024, at the Bac Ninh Provincial Library premises (Ly Thai Tong Street, Suoi Hoa Ward, Bac Ninh City).
This third market fair will feature 20 stalls showcasing safe agricultural products meeting VietGAP standards, organic products, and OCOP products from businesses, cooperatives, and households in the province and from the provinces of Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Son La, Nghe An, Tuyen Quang, and Hai Phong City.
As someone who has participated in many safe agricultural product fairs in Bac Ninh province, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tan – Director of Tan Phat Silic Co., Ltd. – shared: "Each fair is a valuable platform for consumers to learn about the agricultural product brands of our locality as well as neighboring provinces. I hope there will be more such platforms so that consumers can learn about farmers directly, without going through middlemen, while still accessing quality products at reasonable prices."
A highlight of the market fair is its strict quality control, requiring not only certification but also on-site inspections at the production site. This is an annual event aimed at promoting trade, connecting agricultural product consumption for businesses, cooperatives, and households in the province; boosting trade in agriculture and traditional crafts; fostering production linkages, seeking opportunities for cooperation and consumption of local agricultural products and OCOP products; and contributing to the effective implementation of the "Bac Ninh strives to eliminate unsafe food" project and the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign.
