Lien Chieu is an area with many deep flooding points when the rainy season comes with many "hot spots" such as: Me Suot road, Thanh Vinh mountain area, Hoang Van Thai road... Therefore, the work of clearing sewers and sinkholes is focused on. Although it rained heavily on October 26, the youth union members were still actively present at the "hot spots" to support.

According to Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, Secretary of Lien Chieu District Youth Union, because the area has many universities and colleges, most of the students live in low-lying, unstable boarding houses, so volunteers have actively prepared safe storm shelters.

“In addition, we also coordinate with functional forces to mobilize people, workers, and students to move out of dangerous areas and to concentrated storm shelters to ensure safety before the storm makes landfall,” said Mr. Binh.

Mr. Vo Duy Rin, Secretary of Thanh Khe District Youth Union, said that volunteer teams have completed the task of supporting functional forces in clearing sewers in low-lying areas in the area.

“In addition, the affiliated units also mobilized people in fragile houses to take shelter from the storm, supported people in moving boats and fishing baskets to safe places, helped people tie down and reinforce corrugated iron roofs... to ensure safety,” said Mr. Rin.

It is known that the Da Nang City Youth Union has simultaneously activated 56/56 youth volunteer teams for natural disaster prevention in the area to respond to storm Tra Mi. Today, hundreds of volunteers participated in various tasks to support the locality and people in storm prevention.

“This is a team that the City Youth Union has deployed for many years, always proactive in natural disaster prevention, supporting people to relocate their assets, reinforce houses and roofs, protect assets, clear sewers... Currently, the volunteer force is still on duty 24/7, ready to carry out tasks assigned by local authorities to support the response to storm Tra Mi”, said Mr. Le Cong Hung, Deputy Secretary in charge of the City Youth Union of Da Nang.
