On June 30, the Palestinian Authority protested any foreign presence in Palestinian territories. This statement came after Israel called for the handover of the Gaza Strip to international forces.
According to the official WAFA news agency, Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh affirmed that any foreign presence on Palestinian land is illegal and that only the Palestinian people have the right to decide who can govern and manage their affairs.

Spokesperson Rudeineh also emphasized that the Palestine Liberation Organization is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, an organization "with legal authority over the entire Palestinian territory, including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem." The Palestinian issue is not only about humanitarian aid but also about territory and state status.
Earlier, on June 28, Israel's Kan radio station reported that Defense Minister Yoav Gallant had discussed a transitional plan for the Gaza Strip during his visit to the United States several days prior, assuming that the military capabilities of the Hamas Islamic Movement had diminished and that it was unable to conduct large-scale military operations.
Accordingly, international forces (potentially including troops from Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco) will oversee security in Gaza, while the US will assume leadership and logistics roles from outside the territory, possibly in Egypt. This plan will be implemented in phases, moving from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip, gradually transferring responsibility for security to Palestinian forces.
On the same day, according to Al-Qahera News TV, Egypt denied reports that it had approved the relocation of the Rafah crossing point with the Gaza Strip or the construction of a new crossing point near Israel's Kerem Shalom crossing.
Citing a senior security source, Al-Qahera News TV reported that there have been no discussions in Egypt regarding the relocation of the Rafah crossing or Israeli monitoring of the area. The source also emphasized Egypt's compliance with Israel's complete withdrawal from the Rafah crossing on the Palestinian side, and stated that Egypt refuses to send any of its forces into the Gaza Strip.
From May 7th, the Israeli army declared it was imposing "operational" control over the Rafah crossing on the Palestinian side, leading to a halt in the transfer of humanitarian aid from Egypt into Gaza through this crossing.
According to updated figures from the Hamas-run health agency in Gaza, since the outbreak of conflict between Hamas and Israel on October 7, 2023, 37,877 Palestinians have been killed and 86,969 injured.
Regarding the conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that 18 of its soldiers were injured, including one seriously, in a drone attack in the Golan Heights on June 30.
According to the IDF statement, the attack occurred in the early morning of the same day in the northern Golan Heights, and the origin of the drone remains unclear. The Israeli Air Force also conducted attacks on the night of June 30th targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, including an observation post and a missile launcher previously used to fire missiles into northern Israel. Additionally, IDF artillery also struck several Hezbollah positions.
Earlier, on June 29, the Israeli army announced it had bombed a Hezbollah military building in the village of Hula, southern Lebanon, after detecting armed members of the group there.
The escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have raised concerns about a wider conflict in the region. Mutual shelling between the two sides has increased dramatically in recent months.
