Congratulatory message to the Prime Minister and President of the National Assembly of the Slovak Republic

On the occasion of Mr. Robert Fico being elected Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic and Mr. Peter Pellegrini being elected Chairman of the National Assembly of the Slovak Republic, on October 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue sent congratulatory messages.

On the same day, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Juraj Blanár on the occasion of his election as Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

Earlier, on October 25, Slovak President Zuzana Caputova officially appointed Mr. Robert Fico as the new Prime Minister. Mr. Fico's Social Democratic Orientation Party (Smer-SD) won first place in the general election on September 30 and formed a coalition with two other parties.

The appointment ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace and was broadcast live on Slovak media. This is Mr. Fico's fourth term as Prime Minister of Slovakia.

Also on October 25, the Slovak Parliament elected Mr. Peter Pellegrini, leader of Hlas-SD, as Speaker of the Parliament.
