Doan Quang Nhat Vu - an enthusiastic and creative cadre

Born and raised in the heroic province of Quang Tri , after graduating from high school, Vu applied to and was admitted to the Naval Academy. After 5 years of diligent study and training, in August 2021, Vu graduated and began working on Ship 361, Squadron 131, Brigade 172 (Naval Region 3). With a thirst for learning and a desire to improve his skills and abilities, in June 2023, Vu participated in an English-Australian language course at the Information Officer School and achieved excellent results, obtaining a B2 English certificate and an ADFELPS 7.0.

After completing his ship officer training course at the Naval Academy, Doan Quang Nhat Vu was assigned to work at the Command of Coast Guard Region 2. As the Deputy Captain of Ship 320, Vu consistently demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and actively sought out information and research. During his time at the unit, Vu realized that matters related to maneuvering ships in and out of channels and docking at ports are crucial for every ship officer. In reality, there is a high risk of maritime accidents each year, mainly stemming from a lack of knowledge in ship maneuvering, handling situations, and the composure of officers when maneuvering ships in complex conditions such as: nighttime, avoiding collisions, narrow channels, and bad weather conditions.

Faced with this situation, Vu pondered, researched, and completed the project: "Model for maneuvering ships to port for type 205E vessels." After being applied in the unit, the project assisted commanders and agencies at all levels in objectively and accurately evaluating the results and quality of training for ship officers; honed their skills, improved their professional expertise and practical maneuvering techniques, and enhanced their demeanor and conduct during maneuvering; and provided knowledge about ship maneuvering and the impact of rudders and propellers on the ship while it is underway at sea.

Captain Doan Quang Nhat Vu is a dedicated officer who is committed to his work and demonstrates a spirit of innovation in the management, education , and training of soldiers. He actively participates in competitions and sports events organized by his superiors. In early 2025, in the competition for innovative teaching aids and models, Doan Quang Nhat Vu won second prize at the regional level with his model "Exploiting and using the 14.5 mm gun".

Commenting on Doan Quang Nhat Vu, Captain Hoang Van Chien, Commander of Ship 320 (Coast Guard Region 2), affirmed: "Captain Doan Quang Nhat Vu is a capable officer with solid professional skills, a scientific work style, always exemplary and responsible; a shining example for his comrades to follow."

When asked about his achievements, Captain Doan Quang Nhat Vu humbly stated: "Besides my own efforts, I have always received the attention and support of my superiors and the entire unit."

Through our conversation, we realized that Vu's "secret" to success lies in leveraging his youthful energy, loving his profession, being dedicated to his unit, being enthusiastic in his work, avoiding complacency and self-satisfaction; always listening to and learning from superiors, sharing experiences with colleagues, and closely integrating theory with practice to continuously improve himself. Above all, he always maintains the "flame" of his passion for scientific research.

With his dedication, enthusiasm, and sense of responsibility, in 2025, Doan Quang Nhat Vu was promoted from First Lieutenant to Captain ahead of schedule. This serves as a great encouragement for him to continue giving his all with passion, contributing more initiatives and projects to the overall development of the unit.
