BPO - On the afternoon of November 28th, in Thanh Tam ward, Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc Power Company held a ceremony to energize and put into operation the upgraded 110kV Chon Thanh Substation. This is the third of four substations invested by the Southern Power Corporation in Binh Phuoc province to be energized and put into operation in November 2024.
The project to upgrade the capacity of the 110kV Chơn Thành Substation from 2x40MVA to 2x63MVA was invested with a total capital of over 58 billion VND. Phase 1 has been completed with the replacement of transformer T2, and Phase 2 is expected to be implemented at the end of December 2024. Once operational, the project will help the power grid operate continuously and stably, ensuring supply to industrial zones in Chơn Thành town, Hớn Quản district, and the surrounding areas of Bình Dương province.
In the first 10 months of 2024, electricity demand in Binh Phuoc province increased by 14% compared to the same period in 2023, and is estimated to increase by over 11.96% year-on-year for the whole year. The proportion of commercial electricity serving industrial and construction loads is increasing rapidly, accounting for nearly 60% of the total commercial electricity output of the province. To meet the needs of industrial development in particular, and socio -economic development in general, Binh Phuoc Power Company has proposed to the Southern Power Corporation to invest in 18 110kV power line and substation projects in the province, with the goal of completing and energizing 7 projects in 2024 alone.
