The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project worth over 4,800 billion VND has just opened an additional 700m section, helping to reduce traffic congestion at Tan Son Nhat gateway in the area of Thang Long street and Lang Cha Ca roundabout.
The section opened to traffic belongs to package number 10 - one of the most important construction packages of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project, with a total investment of more than 4,800 billion.
This package includes construction of roads, retaining walls, sidewalks, and drainage with a total length of more than 1 km. Of which, the section from Thang Long - Phan Thuc Duyen intersection to 18E road is about 700m long and about 500m from 18E road leading to Cong Hoa.
According to the investor, the above package has completed 99% of the work volume, meeting the conditions for temporary exploitation to help reduce traffic congestion at the Tan Son Nhat gateway area. Vehicles from the center of Ho Chi Minh City will go straight down the underpass and then turn onto Cong Hoa Street, not having to go to Thang Long Street or Lang Cha Ca roundabout.
The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project will start construction at the end of 2022, with the goal of completion by the end of 2024, helping to connect Tan Son Nhat T3 station, breaking the monopoly of the only airport entrance on Truong Son Street.
The entire route is about 4km long, with a cross-section width of 25-48m for 6 lanes, along with 2 connecting branch roads with a scale of 3-4 lanes.
On the route, there is an overpass built in front of Tan Son Nhat airport's T3 station and 2 underpasses at the two end intersections.
At the end of June, the 500m long section from Nguyen Duc Thuan to Cong Hoa streets of the project was opened to traffic to serve the construction of the drainage system on C12 street.
By August 10, package 9 - building an underpass at the intersection of Phan Thuc Duyen - Tran Quoc Hoan streets worth 200 billion VND was also opened 3 months earlier than the expected time.
