Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi said that the press is facing many difficulties such as organizational and personnel changes, and limitations in managing multimedia newsrooms after the merger. Along with that, the strong development of digital technology and artificial intelligence creates pressure for rapid innovation, while the requirement to maintain principles, ensure accurate and timely information and operate effectively is increasingly strict.
The seminar aims to share experiences, resolve difficulties, and foster leadership and management skills appropriate to the requirements of organizing editorial offices and managing the press in the current context of consolidation and multi-type press; thereby creating a rich and diverse press appearance in unity and contributing to the further development of Vietnamese press.
The seminar included three discussion sessions sharing trends in organizing modern newsrooms in the context of multi-platform and press agency consolidation; restructuring the press system, inevitable trends and effective management issues; content organization models from production to distribution in digital newsrooms.

Proposing a direction for the local newspaper, radio and television model, Deputy Director of the Press Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Dang Thi Phuong Thao said that it is necessary to comprehensively innovate the operating model towards media convergence, streamlining the apparatus and partial financial autonomy. Content must be public-centered, diversify forms of expression and create local identity; promote the application of digital technology, train a team of multi-talented journalists, build a reputable brand, and shift from the role of "propaganda" to "trusted friend" of the public.
Sharing about the multi-platform distribution strategy, Mr. Tran Ngoc Long, Head of Communications - Multimedia Department of VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper (VNA) commented that news consumption habits are changing dramatically: social networks and video platforms are gradually becoming the main news sources, podcasters and AI are rising trends. Taking advantage of technology, including AI and cloud infrastructure, helps support flexible workflows, automate tasks and centralize content.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Long pointed out that multi-platform strategy brings many benefits such as optimizing resource allocation, responding faster to breaking news, enhancing brand, increasing reach and interaction, enhancing innovation, and producing lean content.
Delegates also discussed and sought solutions in organizing and managing newsrooms, and proposed support mechanisms and professional training for leaders, managers and journalists.
