Meeting of press management agencies for the first six months of 2024

This afternoon, July 16th, Ho Dai Nam, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, chaired a meeting of press management agencies to review the first six months of the year and implement tasks for the last six months of 2024.

In the first six months of the year, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued a plan to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day on June 21 (1925 – 2025), aiming to recall the glorious tradition and the important and great contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in the cause of national liberation and the building and protection of the Fatherland.

At the same time, direct the governing bodies and media agencies to organize focused and targeted commemorative activities, creating a propaganda effect, highlighting the role and position of the press in social life, and creating a vibrant political and professional activity with profound and practical significance.

The Provincial Party Committee directed Quang Tri Newspaper and other press management agencies to strengthen the dissemination of information about important events and major anniversaries taking place in the province; focusing on promoting and participating in the 9th National Press Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) in 2024 and the Quang Tri Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Award in 2024; the 8th Quang Tri Provincial Press Award in 2024...

On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day on June 21st (1925 – 2024), the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Dang Quang, visited and congratulated the Quang Tri Newspaper; acknowledging and highly appreciating the results that the Quang Tri Newspaper has achieved in information and propaganda work with rich, diverse, high-quality, and effective content covering all aspects of life. In the coming time, the Quang Tri Newspaper will continue to strongly innovate, aiming towards a more combative, modern, professional, and humane press.

The Provincial People's Committee directed the Provincial Radio and Television Station to focus on disseminating information about the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development and national defense and security plan, and the breakthrough solutions of all levels and sectors; to promptly publicize major events and holidays of the homeland and the country with diverse and rich content, ensuring quality and quantity, creating a strong impact and widespread influence. Attention was given to allocating funds to the Provincial Radio and Television Station to implement the political and artistic commentary program with the theme "Quang Tri Aspiring Towards the Future"; to produce programs celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3rd (1930 - 2024), celebrating the Year of the Dragon - 2024; and to organize activities for the 2024 Peace Festival. The Provincial People's Committee also directed the Provincial Radio and Television Station to build a professional studio with a capacity of 250 seats and an outdoor studio.

The Association of Literature and Arts continues to direct the Cua Viet Magazine to closely adhere to the tasks and requirements of the Party, the State, and the province, focusing on extensively disseminating important topics according to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee.

Focus on implementing the Provincial People's Committee's plan on the digital transformation strategy for journalism. Continue to strongly improve the content and format of the arts and culture magazine, creating an impactful and visually appealing approach to propaganda. Pay attention to organizing the "Artists and Writers with their Homeland of Quang Tri" page. Proactively develop the necessary documents and conditions for the deployment of the electronic magazine...

At the conference, delegates exchanged and discussed several issues related to the digital transformation of journalism; improving the quality of news articles to meet the increasingly high information needs of readers; and building infrastructure in media organizations.

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam affirmed that in recent times, the governing bodies of the press have paid attention to, supported, and directed press agencies to effectively carry out their assigned tasks. Press agencies have also strived to overcome difficulties to effectively implement content and format innovation and digital transformation in information and propaganda work.

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department suggested that in the coming period, media agencies should organize their structure and personnel to suit the new staffing levels. They should continue to focus on digital transformation and innovate their propaganda work in a modern direction, in line with the trends of journalism in the new era. They should participate effectively in national and provincial journalism awards, especially those related to Party building. They should continue to closely follow the province's major policies and directions in socio-economic development to disseminate information effectively.
