51-year-old chemistry professor becomes Vice Principal of University of Natural Sciences

The University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) has just held a ceremony to announce and award the decision to appoint Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan as Vice Rector. The ceremony was attended by leaders of Vietnam National University, member schools, along with many staff, lecturers and partners of the school.

On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University presented the appointment decision and congratulated Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan expressed his emotion and thanked the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City National University, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors and colleagues at the school for their trust and confidence in him.

Mr. Nhan pledged to work with the Board of Directors and all staff and lecturers to continue building an innovative and modern academic environment, enhancing domestic and international cooperation, and promoting technology transfer to serve practice and contribute to the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, born in 1974, is an expert in the field of Chemistry and Food Industry. He graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Natural Sciences, and defended his doctoral thesis at Toyama University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Japan). In 2024, he was recognized as a Professor of Chemistry. Before being appointed as Vice Rector, he held the position of Head of the Department of Chemistry, concurrently Secretary of the Department's Party Cell and Member of the School's Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
