Hanoi: Adjusting traffic flow time to serve the first round of training

(Chinhphu.vn) - Hanoi City Police have adjusted the traffic flow schedule to serve the first Comprehensive Training Session, which will take place on August 21, 2025, extending the road closure from 11:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. the following day.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Central Committee of the Party, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi city will solemnly organize the Celebration Ceremony, Parade and March (hereinafter referred to as the Celebration Ceremony) at 06:30 on September 2, 2025.

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee will conduct: 1st general practice at 20:00 on August 21, 2025; 2nd general practice at 20:00 on August 24, 2025; Preliminary review at 20:00 on August 27, 2025; Final rehearsal at 06:30 on August 30, 2025.

Hanoi City Police said that to ensure security and safety, Hanoi City Police adjusted the traffic flow schedule to serve the first Comprehensive Training Session, which will take place on August 21, 2025.

Traffic restrictions on some streets will begin at 11:30 a.m. (August 21).

Other contents remain the same as the previous announcement, however, the road closure time on some streets will start from 11:30 a.m. on August 21, 2025 to 3:00 a.m. on August 22, 2025 (5 hours and 30 minutes earlier than the previous announcement). Specifically as follows:

Routes are strictly prohibited for all vehicles (except vehicles with security badges and vehicles serving the Anniversary):

Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Khue (from Hung Vuong to Van Cao), Mai Xuan Thuong, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, Hung Vuong, Thanh Nien, Hoang Van Thu, Doc Lap, Dien Bien Phu, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Chua Mot Cot, Le Hong Phong, Ong Ich Khiem, Ngoc Ha, Bac Son, Ton That Dam, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Dieu, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Chu Van An, Ton Duc Thang, Cat Linh, Trinh Hoai Duc, Hang Chao, Tran Phu, Son Tay, Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Van Cao, Nghi Tam, Yen Phu, Cua Bac, Doi Can, Doc La-Pho, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan, Tran Nhan Tong (from Le Duan to Quang Trung), Trang Thi, Hang Khay, Trang Tien, Co Tan, Phan Chu Trinh (from Hai Ba Trung to Trang Tien); Le Thanh Tong, Tong Dan (from Ly Dao Thanh to Trang Tien), Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Quang Trung (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Trang Thi), Ly Thai To, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen (from State Bank Square to Trang Tien), Giang Vo, Lang Ha, Lang (from Lang Ha to Tran Duy Hung).

Roads are temporarily closed to traffic.

- Roads inside Ring Road I: temporarily banned for all types of vehicles (except vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving the Anniversary Ceremony, vehicles with priority, vehicles performing official duties, buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting).

- Routes in the area from Ring Road I to Ring Road II: temporarily banned for trucks with a total designed weight of 1.5 tons or more, passenger cars with 16 seats or more (except vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving the Anniversary Ceremony, vehicles with priority, vehicles performing official duties, buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting).

City Police recommends that traffic participants limit traffic on the routes.

- Routes in the area from Ring Road II to Ring Road III: restrict traffic for passenger transport vehicles with less than 16 seats, private cars, and motorbikes.

- Routes in the area from Ring Road I to Ring Road II: traffic restrictions for vehicles.

- For some routes from Ring Road III towards the suburban area (including: National Highway 32, Cau Dien, Ho Tung Mau, Le Duc Tho, Le Quang Dao, Thang Long Boulevard, Lang Van Hoa Street, National Highway 21A, Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highway 6, Quang Trung, Tran Phu, Nguyen Trai, Provincial Road 419, Provincial Road 429, Vo Nguyen Giap, National Highway 18): restrict traffic for vehicles (except buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles for handling and troubleshooting, vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving the Anniversary Ceremony).

Directions for vehicles during road closures

During the period of road closure and vehicle restriction, Hanoi City Police organize directions for vehicles as follows:

- Cars temporarily banned from National Highway 5, Hanoi - Bac Giang Expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway to Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway move through Thanh Tri Bridge → Ring Road III on high → Do Muoi intersection → Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway.

- Vehicles from the Eastern provinces (Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh,...) to the Northern, Western, and Northwestern provinces (Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang...) travel along the route: Phu Dong bridge → Thanh Tri bridge → Ring road III on the elevated road → Thang Long bridge → Vo Van Kiet...; or from National Highway 5 → Nguyen Duc Thuan → Thanh Tri bridge approach road → Phu Dong bridge → Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway → Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway to Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang provinces... and vice versa.

- Vehicles from the Northern provinces (Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho...) to the Southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa...) travel along the route: National Highway 2 → Vo Van Kiet → Thang Long Bridge → Ring Road III → Do Muoi intersection → Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway.

- Trucks with a total designed weight of 10 tons or more traveling on the elevated Ring Road III are restricted from moving to intersections on Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, Nguyen Xien streets and must comply with the direction and instructions of the authorities.

- Do not stop or park vehicles on roads where traffic is prohibited or temporarily prohibited.

- Ring Road I: Nguyen Khoi dike - Tran Khat Chan - Dai Co Viet - Xa Dan - O Cho Dua - La Thanh - Cau Giay - Buoi - Lac Long Quan - An Duong Vuong - Au Co - Nghi Tam - Yen Phu - Dike 401 - Nguyen Khoi dike.

- Ring Road II: Vinh Tuy bridge - Minh Khai - Dai La - Truong Chinh - Lang - Buoi elevated road - Vo Chi Cong - Nhat Tan bridge - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa - Dong Tru bridge - Ly Son - Nguyen Van Linh - Dam Quang Trung - Vinh Tuy bridge.

- Ring Road III: National Highway 1 - Thanh Tri Bridge - Do Muoi - Hoang Liet - Phap Van overpass - Nghiem Xuan Yem - Nguyen Xien - Khuat Duy Tien - Pham Hung - Pham Van Dong - Tan Xuan - Vo Van Kiet.
