While performing a mission at sea, Ship QT 92222 – TS of the Standing Militia Squadron of Quang Tri province discovered and safely rescued fishing boat QB 92659 – TS of Quang Binh province that was in distress in the sea area southeast of Con Co island.

Yesterday morning, March 31st, the vessel numbered QT 92222 – TS of the Quang Tri Provincial Permanent Militia Squadron, while on duty in the sea area southeast of Con Co Island, 10 nautical miles from the island, detected a fishing vessel from Quang Binh province with registration number QB – 92659 - TS sending out a distress signal.

Upon receiving the information, the ships of the Provincial Permanent Militia Squadron proactively contacted their superiors to report the situation and request guidance.

In the midst of monsoon winds, fog, and dangerous waves reaching 2.5 to 3 meters, the QT 92222 – TS vessel of the Quang Tri Provincial Permanent Militia Squadron quickly approached the distressed fishing vessel, assessing the situation regarding people, materials, and equipment on board in order to implement rescue measures.

Initial verification revealed that the fishing vessel, captained by fisherman Luu Van Nho, born in 1977 in Quang Binh, along with 5 crew members, was at sea when its propeller became entangled in fishing nets, rendering it unable to maneuver and forcing it to drift in the area of ​​Con Co Island.

On the same day, the QT 92222 –TS vessel of the Quang Tri Provincial Permanent Militia Squadron used professional methods to actively assist and tow the fishing vessel QB 92659 – TS to a safe anchorage at Con Co Island. The health condition of the 6 crew members of the fishing vessel is stable.
