Hundreds of subjects were criminally prosecuted during the peak period of the crime suppression campaign.

Acting on orders from the Minister of Public Security and directives from the Provincial People's Committee, from December 15, 2024, the entire Quang Tri police force, from provincial-level units to commune, ward, and town police, simultaneously launched a high-intensity campaign to attack and suppress crime, handling hundreds of lawbreakers.

Accordingly, the Provincial Police have deployed 3 provincial-level armed patrol teams, 18 district-level armed patrol teams, and 119 commune-level patrol teams to strengthen crime prevention and control from January 24, 2025 to February 2, 2025, contributing to deterrence, prevention, and ensuring the maintenance of security and order during the Tet holiday.

Hundreds of individuals were prosecuted during the intensified crackdown on crime.

The provincial police force discovered 44 cases of social order violations with criminal implications (a decrease of 27 cases, or 38%, compared to the previous year), resulting in 6 injuries and property damage exceeding 680 million VND; 40 out of 44 cases were investigated and clarified, leading to the arrest of a total of 98 suspects and the recovery of assets worth approximately 350 million VND. 89 cases involving 218 individuals violating the law were detected and handled administratively. Intensified efforts to combat and handle crimes and violations related to "loan sharking," the police force uncovered , arrested, and prosecuted 2 cases involving 3 individuals, and penalized 4 cases involving 4 individuals related to "loan sharking." 78 cases involving 280 individuals engaging in gambling were detected and handled, resulting in the seizure of 683 million VND in cash; 13 cases involving 41 defendants were prosecuted. Administrative penalties were imposed in 62 cases involving 214 individuals, totaling over 150 million VND.

The economic police force arrested and prosecuted 39 cases/50 individuals for corruption, economic crimes, smuggling, and trafficking in prohibited goods; arrested and processed 86 cases/87 individuals for administrative violations related to the transportation and trading of smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin, seizing other goods with a total value of nearly 2.5 billion VND and imposing fines of over 660 million VND. They also detected and arrested 1 case/2 individuals for illegal trading of explosives; arrested 33 cases/40 individuals for transporting, storing, and trading prohibited goods, namely firecrackers, seizing 85 kg of explosives, 400 detonators, and over 1.3 tons of firecrackers; prosecuted 26 cases/34 individuals; and arrested 85 cases/87 individuals for administrative violations related to firecrackers, including 73 cases/75 individuals for illegal use of firecrackers, imposing fines of over 370 million VND.

The anti-drug police force detected and arrested 80 cases/122 individuals involved in drug-related crimes, an increase of 40 cases/68 individuals compared to the same period before the peak, seizing over 3.6 kg of heroin, 15 kg and 84,796 pills of synthetic drugs. They also arrested 190 cases/194 individuals for illegal drug use and transportation of 639 cylinders of N2O gas (laughing gas), an increase of 58 cases and 25 individuals compared to the peak of the previous year, imposing fines totaling nearly 250 million VND.

Environmental police forces apprehended one individual in one case for violating regulations on the protection of endangered and rare animals; they also apprehended and processed 77 cases involving 77 individuals (2 organizations, 75 individuals) for administrative violations in the fields of environment, resources, and food safety, imposing fines totaling over 52 million VND. In addition, they discovered and apprehended one individual using high-tech methods to commit fraud and misappropriate property; and persuaded one particularly dangerous wanted fugitive to surrender.

During the peak period, the province also experienced 5 fires, causing no casualties but property damage of approximately 40 million VND. Traffic police intensified patrols and inspections, detecting and handling 3,246 violations, including 564 cases of drunk driving and 7 cases of drug-related violations, imposing fines totaling over 9 billion VND and temporarily seizing 863 vehicles.
