Previously, on the afternoon of December 4, Corporal La Thanh Luom, Platoon 4, Company 11, Battalion 4, and his teammates participated in cleaning up and preparing to rebuild the house of Mr. Le Huu Bo's family (residing in Binh Hoa village, Tuy An Bac commune, Dak Lak province) that was completely collapsed due to floods.

Under the mud in the house destroyed by flood water, La Thanh Luom discovered a small leather bag, guessing that something valuable was hidden inside. He reported to the unit commander to verify the owner of the bag.

The unit returned the property to Mr. Le Huu Bo's family.

Through discussion, the unit commander confirmed that the owner of the small leather bag was Mr. Le Huu Bo's family. Inside the bag was a gold chain, worth 2 taels of gold. Afterwards, the unit commander and Corporal La Thanh Luom returned the property to the family.

Receiving his property back, Mr. Le Huu Bo could not hide his emotion: “During the recent flood, my family's house completely collapsed. Items such as TV, refrigerator, motorbike... were damaged, the damage was huge. We were very happy that our family received help from the 293rd Brigade's engineering troops to clean up and rebuild a new house. I am very grateful for the honesty of soldier La Thanh Luom. This is a large asset that the family has saved over the years."

Representatives of Brigade 293 presented a certificate of merit to Corporal La Thanh Luom.

On the afternoon of December 4, the commander of Brigade 293 signed a special commendation for Corporal La Thanh Luom for his beautiful act of picking up lost property and returning it to its owner.
