Support over 2.26 billion VND for businesses to innovate machinery and produce cleaner

On the morning of October 24th, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Development, under the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City, organized the handover of machinery and equipment under the 2024 industrial promotion program.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Ha, Director of the Da Nang City Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Development, in 2024, Da Nang City allocated 5.5 billion VND for industrial promotion activities. Of this amount, over 1 billion VND supported trade promotion activities and brand building. The remainder supported businesses investing in machinery and equipment to improve productivity, product quality, and cleaner production.

Machinery, funded by local industrial promotion funds, was handed over to Viet Sec Joint Stock Company.

During this handover period, nine units completed the installation and acceptance testing of machinery. Among them, three units benefited from the pilot project supporting the application of cleaner production in industry: Ba Loc Abrasive Adhesive Co., Ltd., U&I Phuong Quan Trading and Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Viet Sec Joint Stock Company.

The remaining 6 units received support from the industrial promotion program under the category of support for the application of machinery and equipment in production.

With the investment in a CNC drilling machine and a 270 million VND industrial promotion grant, the time required to drill holes in wood at PAD company has been reduced from 2 hours to just 3 minutes.

The total investment cost for machinery and equipment inspected in this phase is over 8.36 billion VND. Of this, over 2.26 billion VND was provided as industrial promotion funding, and the remainder was the businesses' matching funds.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Ha, monitoring has shown that businesses receiving financial support from the industrial promotion program for upgrading production machinery have seriously implemented the procedures and invested in machinery, effectively putting the machinery into production. “The industrial promotion program is implemented to support not only manufacturing businesses but also small units such as cooperatives, creating motivation for businesses to boldly invest, innovate production, and improve product quality,” said the Director of the Da Nang City Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Center, expressing his hope that the units receiving support will put the machinery into effective operation to improve product quality and increase competitiveness.

Viet Sec Joint Stock Company (Hoa Cam Industrial Park, Cam Le District) has invested 1.36 billion VND in an automatic four-sided planing and shaping machine. Of this amount, 300 million VND was provided by the Da Nang Industrial Promotion Program. Mr. Phan Thanh Minh, Deputy Director of the company, stated that this investment will reduce the workforce by one employee while tripling production. Furthermore, it will save on raw materials, and the machine collects wood chips during production, reducing dust and environmental emissions.

“Viet Sec Company participated in the industrial promotion program under the pilot model for cleaner production in industry with an industrial promotion support of 300 million VND. This is very practical support for businesses, especially in the current context where the need for green transformation and digital transformation is urgent. Investing in this machinery will help the company produce more green and clean products,” said Mr. Phan Thanh Minh, expressing his hope that in the future, the company will comprehensively implement green production and continue to receive the support of the Department of Industry and Trade and the city so that the business can develop further and contribute to environmental protection.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Hung introduced two machines for splitting bamboo and shaping bamboo strips.

The Nguyen Hong Hung household business specializes in producing outdoor and indoor furniture from bamboo. However, the scale of operation is still very small, and almost all processes are done manually.

In the 2024 industrial promotion program, the unit received support to purchase bamboo tube splitting machines and bamboo slat shaping machines. “The total investment cost for the machinery was 192 million VND, of which we received 92.5 million VND in support from the industrial promotion program. This is incredibly significant and important support for a very small business like ours,” Mr. Nguyen Hong Hung – the household owner – confided, adding: “Before investing in the machinery, we only produced about one bamboo tabletop per day, but now we can produce 20-30 products per day, greatly increasing productivity.”

During on-site inspections of machinery at each unit, Mr. Nguyen Van Tru, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, noted and expressed his hope that businesses would operate their machinery and equipment in the most optimal way. With this support, they should continue to expand production and business, increase productivity and quality, while also paying attention to environmental protection. The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade leadership also requested that businesses, in addition to production, focus more on brand building, including product design, labeling, and the publication of product standards.

“ The Department of Industry and Trade will continue to support businesses in innovating production machinery to increase product competitiveness, green production, and digital production. We will not only provide partial or one-time support. If businesses have feasible plans, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to support them, and there will be long-term support programs to help businesses, production households, and cooperatives develop, ” said Nguyen Van Tru, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade.
