Hoi An is among the most ideal destinations to experience sustainable tourism in Vietnam.

According to Booking.com, Hoi An is among the six destinations with the largest number of accommodation establishments certified by an independent third party for sustainability, along with Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Ha Giang, Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh) and Song Cau ( Phu Yen ).

Hoi An is described as a must-see destination for international visitors to Vietnam. Coming to Hoi An, visitors can immerse themselves in the traditional cultural space, explore the ancient town with moss-covered houses preserved in their original state, and witness talented artisans making handicrafts.

Tourists can also join a journey to visit Bay Mau coconut forest (Cam Thanh commune) on basket boats, observe locals casting nets and performing unique performances with basket boats.

In addition, visitors can participate in traditional lantern making classes and create their own handmade lanterns as souvenirs when leaving.

According to Booking.com, Hoi An is currently one of the models for combining conservation with tourism development, while promoting activities to support local communities.
