On the morning of January 12th, the Provincial Association of the Blind held a meeting to summarize its work in 2023 and plan for 2024.

In 2023, the Provincial Association of the Blind focused on building and strengthening its organization. To date, the association has 1,499 members, operating in 9 grassroots associations and 97 branches. The well-being of its members has been promptly and thoughtfully addressed; the association has allocated funds to provide hardship allowances to members facing unexpected misfortunes; and gifts have been given to 100% of its members during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year)...
Production and loan activities have been effective; from the job creation loan fund allocated by the Central Association, the Provincial Association, in coordination with relevant units, has assessed and disbursed loans to 45 member households for economic development, totaling over 1.3 billion VND. 32 massage service establishments are maintained throughout the province with an estimated total income of over 3.7 billion VND; 2 handicraft production groups are also maintained, with an estimated income of over 600 million VND per year…
The Center for Vocational Education and Training effectively maintains inclusive classes for 21 visually impaired students. Since the beginning of the year, the center has organized three vocational training courses: traditional massage; Braille literacy; and a course to enhance skills in building, producing, managing, and sharing media products on cloud storage platforms and popular social networks for the visually impaired. Certificates have been awarded to eligible students.

In 2024, the Provincial Association of the Blind continued to strengthen and develop its organization; promote propaganda and attract funding; closely coordinate and stay close to the grassroots, proposing comprehensive and appropriate solutions for vocational training for members; improve the quality of activities at centralized facilities, create jobs for disadvantaged members, and help members gradually stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Blind awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 7 individuals; the Provincial Association of the Blind awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 18 individuals for outstanding achievements in association activities in 2023; and 10 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their achievements at the 2023 National Swimming and Chess Championships for people with disabilities.
