Workshop on green transformation solutions, digital transformation, building sustainable low-emission ecological agriculture

On February 14, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology Institute, the Green Technology Institute, and the Center for Development and Integration jointly organized the Workshop "Solutions for green transformation, digital transformation, building a sustainable ecological agriculture with low emissions to meet the Net-Zero COP26 commitment in Phu Tho province".

Overview of the Workshop.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing a number of issues: Green agricultural transformation in Vietnam - Innovation in policies and sustainable farming solutions towards a net zero emission future; introducing VietFarm cultivation standards associated with low emissions, ESG and pilot schedule for certifying Carbon Credits and VietFarm Green Labels; developing a circular economy suitable for the conditions of Phu Tho province; climate-smart agricultural solutions, responding to natural disasters and agricultural pests and diseases; building a set of indicators and MRV processes for greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector in Vietnam; current situation and solutions to promote tea cultivation according to the direction of quality management and emission reduction to be granted Carbon Credits in Phu Tho province and the Northern mountainous provinces...

Delegates signed a cooperation agreement to build two emission reduction farming models: Organic tea, Golden flower tea and organic medicinal herbs under the forest canopy.

The workshop is of great significance, contributing to promoting, raising awareness and action in Phu Tho province on green transformation, digital transformation, meeting the requirements of integration and development of low-emission agriculture and forestry, transferring technology and practical techniques to certify Carbon Credits, Green Labels to implement the Government's Net-zero commitment roadmap at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
