Workshop on green transformation solutions, digital transformation, and building a sustainable, low-emission ecological agriculture.

On February 14th, the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Phu Tho province, the Northern Mountainous Region Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology, the Institute of Green Technology, and the Center for Development and Integration jointly organized the workshop "Solutions for green transformation, digital transformation, and building a sustainable low-emission ecological agriculture to meet the Net-Zero COP26 commitments in Phu Tho province".

Overview of the Conference.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing several issues: Green agricultural transformation in Vietnam - Innovating policies and sustainable farming solutions towards a future of net-zero emissions; introducing VietFarm farming standards associated with low emissions, ESG, and a pilot schedule for carbon credit certification and VietFarm Green Label; developing a circular economy suitable for the conditions of Phu Tho province; climate-smart agricultural solutions, disaster mitigation and response, and agricultural pest control; building a set of indicators and MRV procedures for greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector in Vietnam; the current situation and solutions to promote tea cultivation according to quality management and emission reduction orientation to obtain carbon credits in Phu Tho province and other Northern mountainous provinces...

Delegates signed a cooperation agreement to develop two models of emission-reduction farming: organic tea, golden flower tea, and organic medicinal herbs under the forest canopy.

The workshop is of significant importance, contributing to promoting and raising awareness and action in Phu Tho province regarding green transformation and digital transformation, meeting the requirements of integration and development of low-emission agriculture and forestry, transferring technology and techniques for carbon credit certification and Green Labeling, and implementing the government's Net-zero commitment roadmap at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
