Ms. Vu Thi Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Dissemination, Legal Education and Legal Aid ( Ministry of Justice ) emphasized that after nearly 30 years of formation and development, legal aid work has been increasingly improved in all aspects. The promulgation of the Law on Legal Aid clearly demonstrates the attention of the Party and State to legal aid work.
In addition, the number and quality of legal aid workers are increasingly increased; legal aid organizations, legal consultants, and law practice organizations are increasingly participating in legal aid cases. The process of implementing cases is increasingly improved, aiming to improve the quality of legal aid, ensuring the rights and interests of the poor and vulnerable.
At the workshop, delegates exchanged and shared initiatives and practical experiences; analyzed and assessed the shortcomings in the provisions of the 2017 Law on Legal Aid and related legal policies; and proposed feasible solutions to improve people's access to free legal services - especially the poor, ethnic minorities and vulnerable groups.

Thereby, contributing to affirming the role and position of the legal aid system as a reliable address in ensuring fairness and access to justice for all people.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Chau, Director of the Lam Dong Provincial State Legal Aid Center, the Department develops a plan, determines the scope, rate and method of assessment; randomly selects cases in many legal fields (except business and commerce). Evaluation criteria include: Litigation process, out-of-court representation and case effectiveness.
In the 2023-2024 period, the Department evaluated 191 cases, most of which had complete records, complied with regulations, and were of good quality. The beneficiaries were satisfied; the legal aid implementation team and the implementation organization worked according to the correct procedures. The evaluation results helped improve the efficiency and quality of legal aid activities and foster professional capacity for staff.
In addition, delegates also exchanged and discussed coordination in legal aid activities, difficulties and problems in policies, laws and organizational models, especially in the context of two-level local government; changes in the organizational model of the People's Court and the People's Procuracy, thereby proposing solutions suitable to the requirements of judicial reform and socio-economic development...
