Students participated in practical classes, listened to preliminary presentations about the committee, understood the roles of each ward official, experienced receiving citizens who came to complete procedures, and learned about the local online public services.
The Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee will provide direct guidance.
The session lasted two periods (two hours) and was part of the course "Quality Management in Public Services".
What made this training session special was that the instructor was not a lecturer, but rather the Vice Chairperson of the People's Committee of Co Giang Ward (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. Huynh Thi Ngoc Han.
Ms. Han guided the students on a tour of each department and provided them with detailed sharing of practical knowledge about the local area.
Ms. Han assessed the students as having a knack for learning, exploring , and discovering.
"Back when I was a student, I was also confused at school because most of the lessons were theoretical. When you get to experience things in the real world, you can get a better understanding of your field of study. Besides that, it also helps you determine your aspirations and what kind of jobs you'll be able to do after graduation."
"We create opportunities for you to gain practical experience and guidance to serve in your specialized field. The ward will facilitate your work, internships in guiding citizens, and experience online public services and administrative procedures," Ms. Han shared.
Student Vo Do Anh Khoa shared: "Today's field trip has given me a lot of experience. After graduation, if we work in administrative agencies, we will be more confident and familiar with the job."

Great significance for students
According to Mr. Tran Tuan Ngoc, a lecturer in public administration at the Faculty of Economics and Public Administration, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, this is the first class from the university to participate in a practical study trip to the committee.
"This activity is of great significance to students, connecting them with practical experience to train them to be the best they can be when they graduate. Real people will introduce the work process and the responsibilities of each department within the committee."
"After studying here, students will write a report and discuss it with each other to see how the theory and practice align," Mr. Ngoc said.
In the coming weeks, students are expected to go on field trips to the People's Committee of Trung Chanh commune (Hoc Mon district) and the Public Administration Center of Ho Chi Minh City.
Le Huynh Kim Tuyen shared: "This was the first time we had the opportunity to experience firsthand the state administrative apparatus at the grassroots level. We learned how the system operates and how to carry out administrative procedures. This field trip helped me absorb knowledge more easily."
