Implementing the Politburo's policy on building inter-level boarding schools in 248 border communes nationwide, Lai Chau province has actively reviewed and proposed needs in 11 border communes. On that basis, the Ministry of Public Security has approved investment support to build 2 schools in Pa Tan and Bum Nua communes.

Accordingly, the above-mentioned Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project will be invested by Lai Chau Provincial Police.
Each school has about 30 classrooms, serving about 1,000 students with an investment of 200 billion VND per project from central budget and other legal capital sources in the period of 2026-2030. The project implementation period is in 2025. These are two key projects, belonging to group B, designed to be modern, synchronous, and meeting level 2 infrastructure standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, affirmed: The construction of two inter-level boarding schools in Pa Tan and Bum Nua is a major policy of the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security to improve the quality of education in ethnic minority areas, create favorable conditions for children to study in a better environment; at the same time, contribute to strengthening security, national defense and promoting socio -economic development in border areas.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Luong, Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the construction of these two projects is an important milestone, fundamentally solving the shortage of facilities and boarding accommodation for students in border areas. Along with that, creating a spacious, modern, safe and friendly learning environment. Opening up the best and long-term learning opportunities for ethnic minority students.

Lai Chau province will speed up the site clearance process, creating the most favorable conditions for the project to be implemented on schedule and ensure quality. After the project is completed, the province will arrange, use it for the right purpose, manage it effectively, organize educational activities suitable to the local characteristics, and bring out the fine traditional cultural identity of the ethnic groups.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security presented many meaningful gifts to the people, students and police forces of the communes. Among them: General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security presented gifts to 10 policy households and 10 village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the work of ensuring security and order in the two communes of Pa Tan and Bum Nua.

The Ministry of Public Security, the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command and sponsors have presented more than 1,000 smartphones to people in the two border communes of Pa Tan and Bum Nua.

Also at the Ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long presented the Emulation Flag for determination to complete the construction of the project to the Lai Chau Provincial Steering Committee and gifts to the Pa Tan and Bum Nua Commune Police to encourage and boost the spirit of officers and soldiers at the border.
