The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just released its monthly climate forecast for the entire country. According to experts, over the next month (February 21st - March 20th), cold air masses are expected to be more active than the multi-year average. However, due to the continental cold high-pressure center shifting eastward, this could cause several days of light rain, drizzle, and fog, especially in the northeastern and north-central provinces.

At the same time, during this period, the equatorial low-pressure belt tends to become more active, shifting its axis northward and potentially affecting the southern provinces and cities in the last days of February 2025.

Therefore, the Central and Southern regions are likely to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas. In particular, the total rainfall in the Northeast and Central regions will generally be 10-30mm higher, with some areas exceeding 30mm; other areas will receive 5-15mm more rainfall than the multi-year average for the same period.

The meteorological agency also forecasts that the average temperature nationwide will generally be close to the multi-year average, except for the Northeast and North Central regions, where it will be 0.5-1 degree lower than the multi-year average for the same period.

Currently, according to the forecast of the Southern Vietnam Regional Meteorological and Hydrological Station, in the next 1-2 days, the continental cold high pressure system will strengthen again, then stabilize in intensity before gradually weakening. At higher altitudes, the subtropical high pressure system with its axis passing through Central and South Central Vietnam continues to move westward... Disturbance in the upper easterly wind zone will continue to affect the weather in Southern Vietnam until the end of February 24th.

These weather patterns strongly influence the weather in various regions. Notably, according to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, early this morning (February 23), a cold front affected some areas in the northern mountainous region. Today, this cold front will affect other areas in the Northeast, Northwest, and North Central regions, and then the Central Central region.

This cold front will bring intensely cold weather to Northern Vietnam from tonight, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold; cold weather to North Central Vietnam, with intensely cold temperatures in some northern areas; and combined with the jet stream in the upper westerly wind zone on February 23-24, rain and light rain are expected in Northern and North Central Vietnam.

Additionally, during today and tonight, the area from Quang Tri to Hue will experience rain, with localized moderate to heavy rain, with rainfall amounts of 15-30mm, and some areas exceeding 70mm; the area from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa will experience moderate rain, with localized heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms, with rainfall amounts of 20-40mm, and some areas exceeding 100mm.

The southern Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam will also experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain (concentrated in the afternoon and evening) with rainfall amounts of 10-30mm, and some places exceeding 60mm.
