Kon Tum lacks nearly 500 teachers for the new school year

On September 11, according to information from the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province, in the new school year 2024 - 2025, the province is still short of 496 teachers. Of which, preschool level is short of 160 teachers; primary school is short of 208 teachers; middle school and high school are short of nearly 130 teachers.

To overcome the shortage of teachers, the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province directed the Department of Education and Training of districts and cities to proactively coordinate teachers from areas with surplus to areas with shortage, and flexibly arrange contract teachers for schools.

Units will review the number of students in each class to arrange teachers to teach 2 sessions/day appropriately. In areas with a shortage of teachers, the Department of Education and Training can organize online teaching to ensure students have full access to lessons.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Kon Tum provincial authorities proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training and central ministries and branches review and issue specific policies and mechanisms for teachers working in disadvantaged, remote and isolated areas.

The provincial Department of Education and Training proposed to supplement the quota of the number of employees lacking for Kon Tum province and not to cut 10% of the number of employees for difficult areas.
