Interbank average interest rates increased sharply

Transaction turnover in USD converted to VND during the week reached about 344,315 billion VND, an average of 68,863 billion VND/day, an increase of 18,651 billion VND/day.

By maturity, VND transactions are mainly concentrated in overnight (89% of total VND transaction turnover) and 1-week (6%). For USD transactions, the terms with the largest turnover are overnight and 1-week with the proportions of 75% and 18% of total transaction turnover, respectively.

Regarding interest rates, for transactions in VND, compared to before the Lunar New Year, the average interbank interest rate increased sharply in most terms. In particular, the terms with the strongest increase were overnight and 1 week, respectively 2.38%/year, 2.44%/year, to 3.02%/year and 3%/year.

For USD transactions, the average interbank interest rate changed little, with the average interest rate for some key terms such as overnight, 1 week and 2 weeks at 5.22%/year, 5.26%/year and 5.33%/year.
