The Song Son - Ba Doi Festival, also known as the procession of the Holy Mother's image at Song Temple, reflects the national cultural identity and pays tribute to Holy Mother Lieu Hanh - one of the four immortal saints of the Vietnamese nation. The festival is also an occasion for people to remember the great contributions of the national hero Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, who 235 years ago stopped at Ba Doi Pass to recruit soldiers, gather supplies, train patriots, and discuss strategies before marching to liberate Thang Long (Hanoi).
