Debris believed to be from MH370 at an event in Malaysia commemorating the 10th anniversary of the plane's disappearance.

A new clue that could help locate the missing MH370 plane more than 10 years ago is being considered by Malaysian authorities to resume the search.

Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke said a few days ago that the agency is considering a proposal to resume the search for the missing MH370 plane, in which the US company Ocean Infinity - the unit responsible for organizing the search mission - will consider the latest clues.

That is the hydroacoustic signal that researchers from Cardiff University (UK) have just discovered about the area under the sea that is likely the location where flight MH370 crashed.

Accordingly, researchers discovered a 6-second signal, which coincides with the time frame when MH370 may have crashed into the sea, recorded at the Cape Leeuwin hydroacoustic station in Western Australia.

The study looked at a number of factors such as the impact of rough seas at the time and how an incident involving a Boeing 777-200 aircraft like this could have produced sound that traveled through the water to microphones on the seabed.

According to the New Straits Times, Mr. Loke said that Ocean Infinity has a submersible to find and detect the location of the crashed plane.

"Any new information will certainly be reviewed by Ocean Infinity, the company responsible and involved in the search mission," the New Straits Times quoted Mr Loke as saying.

"They have a submersible to find and detect the location of the crashed plane. Actually, we have discussed with Ocean Infinity and they have proposed to resume the search," the official said at the launching event of a cargo ship at Kelang Port (Selangor state) on June 22.

Malaysian officials consider resuming search for MH370.

Previously, a research team at Cardiff University discovered a 6-second signal, which coincides with the time frame when the plane may have crashed into the sea, recorded at the Cape Leeuwin hydroacoustic station in Western Australia.

Clues from the 6-second signal are expected to help solve the mystery and determine the location of the crashed plane.

More than 10 years ago, MH370 went missing on March 8, 2014, carrying 239 people. A series of searches were conducted, many hypotheses were put forward, but to this day, the fate of MH370 remains unsolved, making it one of the world's greatest aviation mysteries.

According to the Australian Government website, after the initial air and sea search for MH370 focused on the South China Sea and the Strait of Malacca, on March 17, 2014, the Malaysian Government asked Australia to take responsibility for the search operations after analysis showed that MH370 turned south, towards the southern Indian Ocean, within Australia's search and rescue area.

Surface and underwater acoustic searches in the Indian Ocean have been launched by Australia but have found no debris or signals related to MH370.

On May 5, 2014, officials from Malaysia, China and Australia met and decided to let Australia lead the underwater search in the southern Indian Ocean with the support of Malaysia and China. The search covered more than 120,000 square kilometers of seabed in a remote area in the southern Indian Ocean. On January 17, 2017, the governments of Malaysia, Australia and China announced the suspension of the search until there was more information and reliable evidence that could determine the location of MH370.

On January 16, 2018, the Malaysian government announced the start of a second search for MH370 by a Malaysian investigation team, led by the American company Ocean Infinity, deployed north of the previous MH370 search area.

On May 29, 2018, the Malaysian Government announced that the search campaign for MH370 had ended, with the total search area increased to nearly 200,000 km2 but the location of the missing plane was not determined.
