Wesley Carrington, a man living in Hertfordshire, UK, is known as the "darling" of luck after finding a huge treasure.
The man decided to buy a metal detector on sale at a supermarket. Carrington then took it to a forest near St Albans, south Hertfordshire, to test it. After 20 minutes of testing, luck turned against him.

At first, Carrington found only an old spoon and half an ancient coin. Then the machine started making more noises. Carrington had to dig 1.8m deep to find the treasure of 55 gold coins.
Although he knew the coins were old, Carrington did not realize their importance and took them home. A few days later, he brought them back to the supermarket where he had bought the machine.
The supermarket owner was surprised by Carrington's discovery and advised him to contact the local Museum Council.
A team of archaeologists then went to the site to continue excavations. They also found 104 more ancient coins.
According to archaeologists, the 55 gold coins found by Carrington are all ancient Roman coins dating back more than 1,600 years. The value of this treasure could be up to 100,000 pounds (more than 3 billion VND at the current exchange rate).
The treasure will be sent to the British Museum for an official valuation before being auctioned off. The proceeds will be split between Carrington and the landowner.
