Polytechnic male student who was crowned male king twice wants to become a semiconductor engineer

The king was once a "comprehensive" student.

Before entering the 2024 Elegant Student contest, Lam Quoc Dung had an impressive record of academic and extracurricular achievements, achieving IELTS 7.0 right from high school. This was the foundation for the male student to be admitted early to Hanoi University of Science and Technology through the talent selection method.

In the 2024 high school graduation exam, the male student also scored 28.1 points in block A1, becoming the student with the highest score at Nguyen Hue High School ( Ninh Binh ).

Quoc Dung said that because both his parents are teachers, his studies were quite favorable. The reason why the male student chose to study microelectronics and nanotechnology is because this is a field of study related to his two strong subjects: math and physics. This is also a field of study that trains human resources directly for the semiconductor microchip field.

Sharing about her student, Ms. Doan Thi Kim Dung - principal of Nguyen Hue High School - said Lam Quoc Dung is an excellent, well-rounded student.

Previously, in grade 9, Dung won second prize in math competition for excellent students in Ninh Binh province, and in grade 12, he won second prize in math and third prize in physics in the provincial excellent student competition.

“In addition to his excellent academic achievements, Dung is also an active class secretary. Dung is on the school basketball team and won a bronze medal at the provincial tournament. In 2023, Dung was also an elegant male student at the school.

With high achievements in the high school graduation exam, Dung is one of 200 outstanding students of Ninh Binh province to be awarded the Dinh Bo Linh scholarship - a prestigious scholarship of the province," said Ms. Dung.

Besides his outstanding height of 1.81m, Lam Quoc Dung is also mentioned by many contestants as the most natural contestant in the contest. During the profile photo shoot, Dung attracted many people's attention when he was the only contestant to bring a bare face to the photo shoot.

Dung said he didn’t spend too much on costumes or hire makeup artists when participating in the contest. He even wore a ready-made suit from his high school graduation photo shoot, along with a ready-made ao dai.

Although he has been crowned king twice, Lam Quoc Dung said he will not go into the art field but will pursue his major to become an engineer specializing in microchips and semiconductors.

After graduating from university, Dung will look for opportunities to study abroad in Taiwan.

“After the contest, I also want to build an image on social networks to convey positive and joyful energy to everyone. Next year or the year after, if suitable, I can participate in the Mister World Vietnam contest to gain experience,” Dung shared.
