The coordinated activities between the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province have achieved many important results in recent times. In particular, the quality of social supervision and criticism has been increasingly improved.
On the afternoon of March 10th, the Provincial People's Committee, in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, held a conference to review the results of the three-year implementation of the cooperation regulations for the period 2022-2024. Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, co-chaired the conference.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, presented a summary report on the three-year implementation of the coordination regulations between the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province for the period 2022-2024.
Specifically, over the past three years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, in coordination with relevant provincial departments and agencies, has effectively mobilized support for various funds: the "For the Poor" fund, the relief fund, and the fund to eliminate temporary housing, aiming to support, assist, and create conditions for poor households to overcome difficulties and rise out of poverty sustainably. As a result, the "For the Poor" fund at all levels has raised over 71 billion VND; supporting the construction and repair of 1,459 houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households, as well as supporting production development, education, visits, and medical treatment. The relief fund at all levels has mobilized nearly 44 billion VND, supporting the construction and repair of 630 houses and providing emergency assistance to hundreds of cases affected by natural disasters. The fund for eliminating temporary housing at all levels has over 65 billion VND, supporting the construction and repair of 1,390 houses for policy beneficiary families, poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties.
Continue to promote and encourage the people to actively participate in and implement the "National Solidarity Movement for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" more effectively; in particular, preside over the organization of surveys to assess people's satisfaction with the results of building new rural areas in localities. By December 31, 2024, the entire province will have 129 out of 187 communes meeting the new rural area standards, reaching a rate of 68.98%, with 24 communes meeting the advanced new rural area standards and 2 communes meeting the model new rural area standards.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung added that focusing on coordinating the implementation of the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction in the province during the 2023-2025 period, in conjunction with the emulation movement "Quang Nam joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind," has mobilized assistance in terms of capital, crops, and livestock for 2,450 households to escape poverty sustainably. At the same time, actively coordinating the implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" among union members, association members, and the people;... contributing to creating a positive change in the awareness and mindset of prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods among the people.
During the period 2022-2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province chaired and organized 18 thematic supervision sessions, of which 13/18 sessions focused on the activities, management, and administration of the Provincial People's Committee and its specialized agencies. Through these supervisions, the Provincial People's Committee and its specialized agencies, within their respective scopes and powers, actively coordinated and ensured the necessary conditions, information, and documents for the supervision activities.
At the conference, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Le Tri Thanh, stated that in the near future, monitoring activities will be implemented in two forms: thematic monitoring and regular follow-up on the implementation of conclusions after monitoring. Regarding social criticism, closer coordination is needed. When the Provincial People's Committee requires consultation, the Fatherland Front will invite relevant agencies to provide feedback before implementation. At the same time, Mr. Le Tri Thanh suggested evaluating the quality of meetings with constituents and sending the content of these meetings to the people in advance, as well as strengthening coordination in resolving complaints and petitions.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung requested that in the 2025-2026 period, the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province should focus on implementing several key tasks. Specifically, they should strengthen propaganda and mobilization to raise people's awareness of the Party's leadership role; coordinate in building a strong Party and political system; ensure that socio-economic development projects and policies involve the participation and critical feedback of the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and the people; focus on resolving pressing issues, especially land and land clearance; and accelerate the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province…
