Currently, African swine fever is on the rise in many provinces and cities nationwide. To prevent and control African swine fever, several large-scale pig farms in districts such as Nam Sach, Cam Giang, and Kinh Mon town have implemented various disease prevention measures, determined to prevent a resurgence of the disease. Previously, in 2019, most of these pig farms suffered losses due to African swine fever.

Farm owners are now implementing a 100% lockdown, absolutely prohibiting outsiders from entering the farm. Vehicles transporting livestock and feed must be thoroughly sprayed and disinfected before loading and unloading. The pig entry and exit gates have disinfectant pits filled with lime powder, which are regularly replenished. Pig pens and the entire breeding area are disinfected once daily using strong disinfectants and lime powder. The pig farm is always kept clean, dry, and well-ventilated, with regular spraying to kill flies and mosquitoes. Workers are assigned to specific pens, closely monitoring the herd to promptly address any disease outbreaks. A comprehensive set of biosecurity measures is being implemented to prevent and control African swine fever.

Currently, African swine fever is occurring in 318 communes across 86 districts in 22 provinces and cities nationwide. This includes provinces bordering Hai Duong such as Quang Ninh and Hai Phong... Therefore, the risk of new outbreaks is very high in areas that were previously outbreak sites or are considered high-risk areas.
