Supervisors supervise investigation information collection work in Ky Phu commune (Nho Quan).
In Ninh Binh , the scope of the survey and information collection on the socio-economic status of 53 ethnic minorities in 2024 was carried out in 7 communes of Nho Quan district in the ethnic minority and mountainous areas and Yen Son commune (Tam Diep city) which is not in the above areas but has ethnic minority areas selected for the survey to collect population indicators according to ethnic minorities.
Thach Binh is a mountainous commune of Nho Quan district, with a large natural land area and a large population, of which 50% are ethnic minorities. Therefore, when implementing the work of collecting information for the survey, there were many difficulties. To conduct the survey, the whole commune mobilized 4 investigators to collect data in 9 locations with 280 households.
Mr. Dinh Van Manh, an investigator in Thach Binh commune, said that when conducting the investigation in the locality, we encountered many difficulties due to the large area. In addition, every day, people go to work in the fields, so I often have to take advantage of the afternoon and evening to visit each household to conduct the investigation according to instructions. There are households that I have to visit 3-4 times. However, thanks to the enthusiastic support and cooperation of the Party cell secretary, the village chief and prestigious people, the people understood and proactively provided information, helping the investigation to proceed smoothly.
Ms. Le Thi Hien, Doi Dai hamlet, Thach Binh commune said: My family was selected as a sample household for the survey. Through the propaganda work of the commune and hamlet, I understood and proactively provided information about each family member to the surveyors.
Conducting the survey, Nho Quan district has 33 survey areas (960 ethnic minority households) with 30 ethnic minority households/survey area selected for survey and 1 survey area with 40 ethnic minority households/survey area selected for survey. The total number of sample households is 1,000.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hang, Deputy Head of the Nho Quan District Statistics Office, said: In order for the survey to be effective, follow the process and ensure progress, the Office has closely followed the instructions and guidance documents of the superiors and the Provincial Statistics Office on the survey to advise the District People's Committee to develop a survey plan, review the area, select households for survey, survey the list and household ballots. The entire district has mobilized 16 investigators to participate in the work of collecting information for the survey. By August 9, Nho Quan had completed the sample survey of 1,000 households, reaching 100% of the plan.
The whole province has 34 survey areas selected by the General Statistics Office in 8 communes in 2 districts and cities, of which: Tam Diep city selected samples to survey all ethnic minority households in 1 survey area of Yen Son commune; Nho Quan district has 32 survey areas (960 ethnic minority households) selected samples of 30 ethnic minority households/survey area and 1 survey area selected samples of 40 ethnic minority households/survey area.
Clearly identifying the importance of the work of making lists and collecting information at the survey area to determine the success and quality of the survey results, especially for the target group of ethnic minorities, the Provincial Statistics Office focuses on the selection of investigators and supervisors, with priority given to local people who understand the area, the cultural customs of the people and have the ability to access and collect information, have a high sense of responsibility, good health, and are proficient in using electronic devices to carry out electronic questionnaires. The statistics sector has selected 14 supervisors, 8 survey team leaders, 17 household survey surveyors and 3 survey surveyors.
Mr. Le Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Statistics Office, said: Overcoming many difficulties, Ninh Binh province has actively implemented synchronous solutions, suitable to the actual conditions of each locality to conduct the survey to ensure progress and collect complete and accurate information. By the end of August 9, 2024, the whole province had collected information in the area of 1,092 households, reaching 100% of the plan, 6 days earlier than the Central plan.
The early and accurate completion of the survey helps to reflect the socio-economic situation of 53 ethnic minorities to compile statistical indicators belonging to the national statistical indicator system and the statistical indicator system on ethnic affairs to serve the construction and planning of socio-economic development policies for ethnic minority regions in the period of 2026-2030; as a basis for updating the information system and statistical data on ethnic minorities in Vietnam in general and in the province in particular.
