Overcoming difficulties and flexibly implementing two-session-per-day teaching.
Established in 1962, Cam Xuyen High School (Ha Tinh province) has over 63 years of development and is a shining example of education in this studious region. However, after decades of use, the school's facilities have seriously deteriorated.
At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the two-story H1 building with 12 classrooms was determined to no longer be safe. After assessment by the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training, the school was forced to seal it off and switch to a two-shift teaching system.
Entering the 2025-2026 school year, the education sector's policy is to organize two-session-per-day teaching to meet the requirements of comprehensive educational reform. Currently, the school has 35 classes with 1,351 students, while only having 25 classrooms, lacking 10 classrooms to accommodate two-session-per-day teaching.
Not only is there a shortage of classrooms, but many other facilities are also severely damaged: the floors and podiums are peeling; the electrical system and fans are dilapidated, posing a safety risk; and the student parking area is cramped and has been in disrepair since 2008.

Faced with these difficulties, the school administration proactively made the most of the existing facilities: flexibly rearranging subject classrooms, the library, and administrative offices to utilize them as main classrooms; and simultaneously repairing and purchasing additional teaching equipment to create the best possible conditions for students.

Alongside improving facilities, the school has reformed its management, arranged a rational timetable, and effectively implemented a two-session-per-day teaching schedule.
Mornings are dedicated to regular classes; afternoons are for tutoring weak students, nurturing gifted students, and organizing experiential activities, career guidance, and life skills training.
Flexible methods help students consolidate knowledge, develop capacity, and meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.
Promoting resources towards sustainable development goals
The spirit of unity and consensus among the teaching staff is the foundation that helps the school overcome difficulties. The teaching staff actively innovates teaching methods, applies information technology, and uses electronic learning materials to improve teaching effectiveness and save costs under limited resources.

A major highlight of this school year is that the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province and the Department of Education and Training have approved the plan to build a new, spacious, and modern three-story building with 18 classrooms, replacing the dilapidated H1 building. In addition, a covered schoolyard covering over 1,000 square meters has been completed thanks to social contributions from parents and students.
Parents and students also actively cooperate with the school, providing financial support for repairs and the purchase of smart teaching equipment, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning.

Mr. Vo Huu Ha, Principal of Cam Xuyen High School, shared: “Difficulties regarding facilities are real, but with a proactive and creative spirit and the attention of all levels, we believe that teaching two sessions per day will become increasingly effective, contributing to improving the overall quality of education for students.”
Driven by a spirit of overcoming difficulties, creativity, and unity, Cam Xuyen High School is gradually affirming its sustainable development path, continuing to spread the image of a traditional school that always knows how to turn challenges into motivation for progress.
