Hoa Lu women turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Towards the flood victims, these days, the Women's Union of Hoa Lu district has called on its members to donate necessities to help them overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

In recent days, the headquarters of the Women's Union of Thien Ton town has become more bustling as women are busy sorting and packaging relief goods to send to people in flood-hit areas. Ms. Duong Thi Chuc, one of the active participants, shared: "Every day, updating news about people in flood-hit areas, I can't help but feel sad. Therefore, my family and I have contributed a small part to share the difficulties with the people. Each gift sent contains love, hoping to help people stabilize their lives soon."

Ms. Pham Thi Cham, President of the Women's Union of Thien Ton town, said: With the tradition of "mutual love and support", the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", since September 9, the Women's Union of Thien Ton town has launched a campaign for female members to join hands and share with their fellow countrymen. After the campaign, every day, many female cadres, members and people in the area come to support. Some people support instant noodles, others fish sauce, cooking oil, drinking water... Everyone who comes here has the thought of contributing a small part to help flood-affected compatriots overcome difficulties soon. In particular, in addition to the support of cadres and members, through propaganda and mobilization, the Union has received direct support from businesses and units such as: Ninh Binh Association in the South supporting 800 gifts; Anh Khoa Enterprise supporting 200 gifts, 100 boxes of eye drops and 1 truck to transport goods to people in flooded areas...

After receiving the goods, the women classified and divided them into gift bags with a variety of necessities to serve the people's lives. Through the appeal, the Women's Union of Thien Ton town received 4 tons of goods, mainly necessities: Drinking water, instant noodles, dry food, burnt rice, medicine... During the two days of September 11-12, pickup trucks carrying goods donated by the Women's Union of the town continuously rolled, carrying meaningful gifts to people in the northern provinces and the flooded area of Nho Quan. Each truck carried love and hope.

"Seeing the smiles of the people when receiving the gifts, I feel all the hardships disappear. That is the motivation for us to continue working." - Ms. Pham Thi Cham, President of the Women's Union of Thien Ton town shared.

Not only the Women's Union of Thien Ton town, in recent days, Women's Unions of many localities in Hoa Lu district have also taken practical actions to help people affected by natural disasters.

Ms. Pham Thi Kim Oanh, President of the Hoa Lu District Women's Union, said: "Through social networking platforms, information about activities to support flood victims has spread quickly. Many female cadres and members have also established associations and groups to call on everyone to join hands to support flood victims in a voluntary spirit. In just a short time, thousands of gifts have been donated. From boxes of instant noodles, small bottles of mineral water, to medicine, all are contributed with sincerity."

Currently, the movement to support flood victims of the Women's Union at all levels and women's union members in Hoa Lu district is still being implemented. On the morning of September 12, two more delegations of the district's Women's Union at all levels brought 500 gifts of goods and necessities to Duc Long commune, Nho Quan district.

By the end of September 12, the Women's Union at all levels in Hoa Lu district had received and transported 4 shipments of goods to support people in Yen Bai and Thai Nguyen provinces; 1,500 gifts including all necessities to people in flooded communes of Nho Quan district (Lac Van, Lang Phong, Duc Long). The total value of goods received is estimated at over 400 million VND.

"In the coming time, the Hoa Lu District Women's Union will continue to mobilize and donate to support people affected by natural disasters, and accompany them to help them stabilize their lives soon." - Ms. Pham Thi Kim Oanh, President of the Hoa Lu District Women's Union affirmed.
