Large landslide on National Highway 4D causes traffic congestion between Lai Chau and Lao Cai

Due to prolonged heavy rain, on the morning of July 11, two landslides appeared on National Highway 4D at Km76 and Km91+500, causing temporary traffic congestion from Lao Cai to Lai Chau province.

The landslide occurred near the O Quy Ho Eco -tourism area.

According to information from the Department of Construction of Lao Cai province, at 11:30 AM, a mass of soil and rocks slid down, blocking one lane of the road at Km91+500 (near Silver Waterfall), National Highway 4D, in Ban Ho commune, affecting traffic flow from Lao Cai to Lai Chau .

During the same period, a long landslide occurred on the road through the O Quy Ho Eco-tourism Area, affecting traffic and some resort bungalows in the O Quy Ho Eco-tourism Area, Binh Lu commune, Lai Chau province. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Landslide occurred at Km91+500 (near Silver Waterfall), National Highway 4D.

Currently, the Project Management and Maintenance Boards for Transportation Infrastructure in Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces have deployed machinery and personnel to the landslide area to address the problem and ensure smooth traffic flow as soon as possible.
