Large landslide on National Highway 4D causes traffic congestion between Lai Chau and Lao Cai

Due to prolonged heavy rain, on the morning of July 11, two landslides appeared on National Highway 4D at Km76 and Km91+500, causing temporary traffic congestion from Lao Cai to Lai Chau province.

According to information from the Department of Construction of Lao Cai province, at 11:30 a.m., a mass of earth and rock slid down and blocked a lane at Km91+500 (near Bac waterfall), National Highway 4D, in Ban Ho commune, affecting traffic from Lao Cai to Lai Chau .

Also during the same time, on the road through O Quy Ho Eco-tourism Area, a long landslide from above affected traffic activities and some resort bungalows of O Quy Ho Eco-tourism Area, Binh Lu Commune, Lai Chau Province. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Currently, the Traffic Project Management and Maintenance Board of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces has deployed machinery and human resources to the landslide area to fix the problem and soon ensure smooth traffic.
