According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , in recent times, the department has received many complaints from people about scar treatment causing complications at a beauty salon called "Pfizer".
At the same time, the Department of Health also received a complaint from Pfizer Vietnam Co., Ltd. regarding the company's advertising on social media using a logo that allegedly infringes on the trademark of Pfizer Inc., a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation.
Following the complaint, the Inspectorate of the Department of Health coordinated with relevant units to conduct an unannounced inspection at 2B - 2C Ho Xuan Huong Street (Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3). It was found that this establishment was granted a business registration under the name "PFIZERS" on May 12, 2023, with the business activity being skin care, owned by Ms. TTKM.
However, this beauty salon displayed signs and produced many promotional products bearing the Pfizer name, misleading customers and negatively impacting the Pfizer brand.
Pfizer Beauty Clinic uses the same name and logo as Pfizer Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Previously, on June 27th, the People's Committee of District 3 issued Decision No. 457/QD-XPHC imposing administrative penalties on this beauty salon for using substances and equipment to alter skin color on various body parts. An additional penalty was the suspension of the establishment's operations for 4.5 months.
However, this beauty salon not only failed to comply with the administrative penalty decision but also deliberately repeated the violation, continuing to advertise scar treatment, injections, etc.
After reviewing the case file, the Inspectorate of the Department of Health determined that this was a case of repeated violation and therefore transferred the entire case file to the competent authority for criminal prosecution as prescribed by law.
Following this incident, in order to promptly prevent unlicensed, disguised, and clandestine operations, and to strictly handle violations as well as ensure the health and safety of the people, the Department of Health requests the People's Committees of districts/wards and Thu Duc City to direct the Health Departments and specialized departments to strengthen the implementation of several measures. These include reviewing business licensing procedures and conducting post-licensing inspections to promptly correct violations...
