According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, currently 15 agencies under the City People's Committee have more than 6,100 civil servants, of which nearly 4,200 are working at central agencies in Ho Chi Minh City. In Binh Duong alone, there were previously more than 300 cadres, civil servants and public employees who have transferred to work at the agencies.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and branches said that after 1 month of operating the 2-level local government, besides the advantages, civil servants also encountered many difficulties due to overloaded facilities of agencies in the central area, long travel distance, lack of public housing; some officials moved their whole family to the center of Ho Chi Minh City to work, hoping to create conditions for their children to transfer to school for convenient pick-up and drop-off, etc.

Representatives of the agencies also proposed to arrange affiliated units and staff according to assigned functions and tasks to work at the former Binh Duong Provincial Centralized Administrative Center, to facilitate the implementation of assigned tasks and limit waste of invested facilities and equipment.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh shared the difficulties and inconveniences that civil servants are experiencing and said that the city's leaders always listen, accompany and remove obstacles, creating conditions for civil servants and workers to best complete their assigned tasks.
He requested the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to specifically list the agencies, units, and number of officials who wish to work at the former Binh Duong Centralized Administrative Center so that the city's leaders can consider arranging them to ensure streamlining, efficiency, and cost savings.
The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also requested departments and branches to focus on performing key tasks well, ensuring safety for the building; at the same time, urgently review the needs of personnel who need support in terms of travel conditions and official housing to report to the City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for consideration; assign the Department of Science and Technology and the Center for Innovation to review and train the use of online meeting software and group work to improve work efficiency.
