Comprehensive inspection of Anh Duong Kindergarten

TPO - The inspection team for Anh Duong Kindergarten consists of 12 people, led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huynh - Deputy Chief Inspector of Chau Duc District. The inspection period covers from January 2022 to September 2024.

On the afternoon of September 19th, the People's Committee of Chau Duc District ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) issued a decision to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Anh Duong Kindergarten. The inspection period covers from January 2022 to September 2024.

The inspection team consists of 12 people, led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huynh - Deputy Chief Inspector of Chau Duc District. The members of the inspection team are deputy heads and staff from relevant departments and divisions.

In addition, the Chau Duc District People's Committee has also reported on the progress of handling the case after the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee requested verification and clarification of information regarding the teachers' meal portions at Anh Duong Kindergarten.

According to the report, immediately after receiving public feedback on social media regarding teachers' lunch meals, the Chau Duc District People's Committee issued an urgent document directing specialized agencies to take the lead in coordinating and verifying the content.

Chau Duc District also issued a document providing a hotline to promptly commend exemplary individuals and address negative issues, shortcomings, and weaknesses related to education in the area.

Previously, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province sent a document to the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health , the People's Committee of Chau Duc district, and the People's Committees of other districts, towns, and cities requesting verification and clarification of information regarding the meals provided to teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten in Chau Duc district.

Accordingly, following media reports alleging that the meals provided to teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten were substandard and did not meet quality standards, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province instructed the People's Committee of Chau Duc district to urgently verify and clarify the above-mentioned incident.

At the same time, the Chau Duc District People's Committee will strictly handle any violations (if any) in accordance with the law, ensuring a decisive approach to handling them, without evasion, cover-up, or superficial action; and report the results of the handling to the Provincial People's Committee.

The Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to comprehensively direct and rectify the implementation of boarding school programs in schools, ensuring food safety and hygiene and the quality of boarding school meals for students and teachers.

At the same time, strengthen inspection work, combining regular and unscheduled inspections, guiding and requiring schools to fully declare menus, ingredients, and meal portions to all parents; detect violations, limitations, and shortcomings so that timely and appropriate measures and advice can be taken.

The People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province also assigned the Department of Health to direct the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department to coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities, and the Education Departments of districts and towns to regularly organize inspections and supervision to ensure food safety and hygiene in schools, especially primary schools and kindergartens with boarding facilities; to detect violations, shortcomings, and deficiencies in order to take timely and appropriate measures and provide advice in accordance with regulations.

Previously, images and content shared on social media reflected that the 30,000 VND lunch trays served to teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten only contained rice and two slices of Vietnamese sausage, along with a little fish sauce. Some other trays contained rice and a few pieces of stir-fried meat with bamboo shoots.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban, Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee, directly held a dialogue with teachers and staff of Anh Duong Kindergarten.

The post included the following message: “After posting about the embezzlement of children's meals and the retaliation against the whistleblower, some teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten sent pictures of their extremely meager lunch meals. If even laborers are treated this way, imagine what it's like for children aged 2-5. Please don't look at the 30,000 VND meal of laborers with such indifference. Show concern and understanding with compassion.”

Based on the above information, the Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee requested the Head of the Education and Training Department to preside over and coordinate with the District Culture and Information Department to verify and clarify the matter.

On the afternoon of September 17th, Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban, Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee, directly held a dialogue with teachers and staff of Anh Duong Kindergarten (Ngai Giao town, Chau Duc district) to listen to their concerns and aspirations following the controversy surrounding the 30,000 VND lunch allowance.
