The Mass Participation World (MPW) conference, in collaboration with Sunrise Events Vietnam (SEV), officially announces that its 10th annual conference (MPW 25) will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4th and 5th, 2025.
MPW 25 is expected to further promote the development of the sports industry for the community.
World Conference on Mass Sport
Coinciding with the 8th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon (taking place from December 5th to 7th), the 10th World Conference on Mass Sport brings together leading industry leaders – including organizers of running and triathlon events, brand partners, government agencies, and pioneering technology companies – to share trends, experiences, and strategic perspectives that will shape the next decade of the sports industry.
This is the third time MPW has been held in Vietnam, and it's even more special as this year marks the 10th anniversary of both SEV and MPW.
The mass sports ecosystem in Vietnam has developed strongly in recent years; however, there is still much potential to further promote health values, sports tourism, and strengthen brand-community engagement, not only in Vietnam but also globally.
Mr. Trinh Bang, chairman and co-founder of Sunrise Events Vietnam, further emphasized: "We hope to receive the support and active participation from management agencies and local authorities this year. Mass sporting events not only have a competitive spirit but also contribute to building a healthier, more dynamic, and more cohesive society."
Chris Robb, founder and CEO of the World Conference on Mass Sport, emphasized the special significance of this milestone: "We are delighted to return to Vietnam for the 10th conference. Southeast Asia has emerged as a hub of exceptional growth, and MPW 25 will be a platform for collaboration, experience sharing, and the advancement of the sports industry, especially in the post-pandemic context."

Mass sports post-pandemic
MPW 25 encompasses a shift from event organization to ecosystem development, embracing global trends and collaboratively building a sustainable future, reflecting a significant change in the industry's mindset. Beyond simply organizing world-class events, the world needs to build sustainable foundations linked to health and fitness, tourism, local economic development, and community engagement.
By broadening perspectives, MPW 25 aims to explore how mass sports can be a powerful catalyst for innovation, sustainable development, and positive social impact.
Key topics at the conference included: Post-COVID-19 trends in mass sports; Technological innovation and athlete experience; Public-private partnerships for public health; Sustainable sports tourism and urban impact; Community building and promoting "Diversity – Equality – Inclusion in sports".
The MPW 25 conference was held concurrently with the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2025, one of the leading mass sporting events in Vietnam.
This combination gives delegates the opportunity to experience the event firsthand, while also linking the conference discussions to the practical aspects of organizing and operating large-scale events.
