Back Beach is a beach that welcomes a large number of tourists every year. The large number of visitors puts a lot of pressure on garbage collection. During peak tourist seasons, when the amount of garbage increases, garbage collectors have to work hard, day and night, to ensure the beach is always clean.
However, despite continuous cleaning efforts, waste such as plastic bottles, nylon bags, ice cream sticks, coconut shells and wood chips... still regularly appear scattered on the sandy shore, affecting the aesthetics and marine environment.
Faced with this situation, Vung Tau ward authorities have coordinated with Tam Hoang Thien Company Limited to test automatic sand screening technology, aiming to increase cleaning efficiency and gradually modernize and protect the beach environment.

The sand screening vehicle consists of two parts: the driver's cab and the front control unit, and the rear screening system. Sand and trash are rolled up to the screening system; the clean sand is returned to the beach, while the trash is collected in the storage compartment. The device can handle both soft trash such as nylon bags, leaves, and hard trash such as coconut shells and wood chips.
“The car runs smoothly and does not make much noise. Every night, I drive the car along the beach from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. the next morning,” said Dao Thanh Hung, a worker at Tam Hoang Thien Company Limited.

“I am very impressed with this solution! Every time a car passes through, the sand becomes clean and smooth. I think this is something that should be maintained regularly,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Dam, a resident of Vung Tau ward.

According to Mr. Pham Khac To, Director of the Vung Tau Ward Culture, Information , Sports and Tourism Center, this is an effective model that helps maintain environmental hygiene without affecting daytime tourism activities. The ward will support the expansion of this model, while promoting propaganda so that residents and tourists are responsible for preserving the beach.

On the side of the solution provider, Mr. Le Tan Nghia, Deputy Director of Tam Hoang Thien Company Limited, said: The company is currently testing free operation. “We hope that the automatic sand screening solution will not only clean the beach, but also contribute to creating the image of Vung Tau as a green - clean - beautiful tourist city,” Mr. Nghia said.
Mr. Nghia also expressed his desire to share this model with other localities with tourist beaches across the country to join hands in protecting the marine environment.
