The Prime Minister has appointed Mr. Do Thanh Binh as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior.

According to a decision effective from September 28, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh appointed Mr. Do Thanh Binh as Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 2159/QD-TTg dated September 28, 2025, on the acceptance and appointment of Mr. Do Thanh Binh as Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs .

Specifically, the Prime Minister decided to appoint Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, to the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This decision takes effect from September 28, 2025.

Mr. Do Thanh Binh was born on March 15, 1967, in Ca Mau province. His professional qualifications include a Master's degree in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Political Economy. He is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (13th term) and a representative in the National Assembly (15th term).

Mr. Do Thanh Binh rose through the ranks, holding numerous positions in Kien Giang (formerly) such as: Secretary of the District Youth Union, Chairman of the District People's Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Thuan District Party Committee; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

In January 2025, Mr. Do Thanh Binh was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. After Can Tho city merged with Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces, Mr. Do Thanh Binh was appointed by the Politburo and the Secretariat to the position of Secretary of the (new) Can Tho City Party Committee.
