At the invitation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife will attend the World Climate Action Summit within the framework of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), conduct a number of bilateral activities in the UAE and pay an official visit to Turkey from November 29 to December 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was adopted at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 1992. The COP is the highest decision-making body of the UNFCCC.
COP28 is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai, UAE, with more than 70,000 delegates attending, including world leaders and heads of non-governmental organizations, businesses, youth groups and other stakeholders.
The Climate Action Summit was held within the framework of COP 28 on December 1-2 with the participation of heads of state and government of countries. This event aims to create a forum for countries to make stronger commitments and actions in financial and technological contributions, reducing greenhouse gas emissions towards the implementation of the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement.
Vietnam and Turkey established diplomatic relations on June 7, 1978, and the two countries have maintained friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation. Turkey is one of Vietnam's leading trade partners in the Middle East and a gateway for Vietnam to export to the Middle East and Southern European markets. Bilateral trade turnover in 2022 reached more than 2 billion USD, of which Vietnam exported 1.6 billion USD.
As of October, Türkiye had 36 valid investment projects with a total registered capital of 974.3 million USD, ranking 26th out of 143 countries and territories with investment projects in Vietnam. In August, IC Ictas, a member of Turkey's IC Holdings Group, led the Vietur Joint Venture to win the bid for the construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment worth 35,000 billion VND for the Long Thanh airport project.
There are about 200 Vietnamese people living in Türkiye. During the earthquake disaster that occurred in southeastern Türkiye in February, Vietnam provided $100,000 in aid and sent two rescue teams to help with the aftermath.
